This is our sales guy Sean"s customer (sean@vividracing.com ext. 226). This 2012 Godzilla was originally a stock, white, black edition GT-R. DDW Partners wanted make sure this GT-R looked nothing like other GT-R"s on the road, and the DDW Partner project car was born. Since then they"ve built this thing into a sexy carbon fiber beast. That"s right, the ENTIRE car is wrapped in a 3M carbon fiber vinyl. To go along with that custom wrap, he came to us for the final carbon fiber touches. He went with the dry carbon fiber hood, a SR Style trunk lid and SR Style dry carbon fiber wing, all from Seibon. On board he has a sexy set of custom ADV.1"s coming in. Porsche 991 Turbo Exhaust Video and High Flow Y-Pipe R&D

The only phrase that comes to mind is that we are “balls deep” in the R&D process of aftermarket performance parts for the Porsche 991 Turbo. We have completed the exhaust system with high flow catalytic converters and thought we would do a sneak peak sound clip. The exhaust system, as described here in our previous article, will be tested on the dyno as well as reviewed for driving characteristics on the road. The exhaust will be tested in stages as muffler with factory cats, OEM muffler with high flow cats, and muffler with high flow cats. In addition to the exhaust, we also have tubular manifolds in the works and several turbo/intake components.

One of the new parts we are working on is the “charge” pipe or Y-Pipe that goes into the throttlebody.  We have been very successful in the past with Y-Pipes on the Panamera Turbo, 996 Turbo, and 997.2 Turbo gaining proven horsepower on the dyno and quicker turbo spool for normal driving characteristics.  The amount of air flow you can get into the throttlebody is more important (IMO) than what happens after the throttlebody.  The increased airflow simply yields more power and performance.  On the 991 Turbo, the factory pipe from the intercoolers to the throttlebody is 2inch diameter and then merges fairly early.  To improve upon this design, we have increased the diameter of the piping to 2.5inch and maintained separate pipes as close to the throttlebody as we could to eliminate any unecessary turbulence.  The piping is designed to still work with the factory airbox and maybe (insert Dr. Evil pinky face) a new cold air intake.  Stepping up our Agency Power game is this nice CNC machined AP logo brace in the center.  Of course non of this is important unless it makes power and improves driveability so stay tuned for those tests!

Having had the chance to play with the Porsche 997 Turbo platform over the years, we are quite familiar with the driveability characteristics between a stock and tuned car.  There are certain mods that do work, and some that don’t.  Each car and customer is different so we always look for ways to best assist someone in their goals.  This Porsche 997 Turbo came to us locally here with some already completed modifications. Fear "The Beard"

When we got our Project Focus ST there were other people out there starting to mod theirs. A lot of them were vendors, but there was this one enthusiasts, @williamstern (aka. The Beard) from Miami we ran across on Instagram. We’ve been following his build since the beginning of his build. His Tangerine Scream Focus, has been getting a lot of attention online. It’s been almost like a game of chess between him and us. We would add something, then see what he would add, and so on. Although this ST project car is far from finished, he thought it was far enough along to share the progress.

Not only is this custom color loud and body aggressive, but it’s the custom pieces that make this build memorable. One of the first things you’ll notice besides the color, are the custom painted ADV.1 ADV15 MV1′s. These 18×8.5 with YokohomaS Drive’s stretched around them demand attention. No matter how you feel about domestics, or the ST, there’s no way you can look at this car and not think it’s bad ass. The fierce black accents  that he had done by The SignSavers on the roof and side mirrors are more of a sleeper upgrade.  The Tangerine Scream is an awesome color, but it’s possible to have too much of a good thing. The customizations on the mirrors and roof are the perfect counter balance to the Tangerine Scream.  When you get closer, you’ll notice one of our favorite custom touches. “The Beard” wanted to make sure every passerby knew who’s car this was. So he had Tikore make custom lug nuts with a mini-silhouette of him, and his infamous beard.  It’s like the signature, on a piece of art.  Although we won’t be printing our mug on any lug nuts soon, we can appreciate the hint of narcissism. 

The next noticeable upgrades are on the body. He’s taken the already distinctive lines of the Focus ST and extended them to add definition to his custom creation. The Street Scene Sides and Front Lip Kit, he got from us, really put the finishing touch on the exterior. It’s an unspoken rule in the tuner world that you can’t have a body kit and custom wheels without adjusting the suspension accordingly. He went with some BC Racing NA Coilovers to make sure those custom ADV.1 were perfectly slammed .

Although we spent a lot of time praising the exterior, don’t think for a second that this thing’s just a show pony. The performance upgrades are, just as impressive, as the exterior upgrades. Here’s a list of mods he had done at Dynamic Turbo, that make this thing put down 273 wheel horsepower and 357 pounds of torque.

Like us, a lot of people are excited to make-over the new 991. Porsche’s already have such a thoroughbred lineage that it’s an unspoken challenge to make them better. We were always admirers of Porsche’s then finally got our hands on one in 2006, it was our first 996 Carrera. Although we didn’t go all out, it started us on a road to where we are today, with the new 991 turbo, that could use some upgrades.

Vorsteiner took on the challenge to upgrade the pure bred beast. Although they are relatively new to the wheel game, this wheel is symbolic of their Decade of Excellence in the aftermarket industry. We’ve been using their body kits on our project cars for years now. Their style is so aggressive, that when they broke into the wheel industry, you knew there was nothing but awesomeness ahead. They just released their Sport Exhaust for the Exige S. This lightweight system gives the Exige S more efficient flow while providing noticeable improvements in the throttle response. The sound enhancement that the Sport Exhaust provides is incomparable.

Quicksilver specializes in working with the engine to perfect a consistent sound at lower revs while really unleashing the sound at higher rpm’s.
