BMW 650 GranCoupe Lowered on KW Coilovers

When it comes time to put suspension on your car, there is no better choice than KW Coilovers.  Vivid Racing is a huge promoter of these coilovers for the fact they work!  In the past 15 years we have had the chance to work with so many cars and suspension setups and at the the end of the day, we keep coming back to KW.  KW Variant 3 coilovers are the flagship of their coilover line.  Featuring independent rebound and compression adjustments, they also have adjustable ride height, along with progressive spring rates up front.  The springs rates tend to be softer than other systems, but their patented bump stop material acts like a 3rd spring giving the coilover a smooth street ride, but enhanced performance when pushed through the turns.  Their systems have the ability to integrate with electronic suspension to not cause any dash lights.  For those wanting a simpilier solution, KW also has their V1 and V2 coilovers.  In addition, KW offers their HLS lift system for drivers needing that extra clearance when coming home from their track days.  Check out all the KW Coilover applications we carry here.

Vivid Racing CLA45 AMG Featured on Smoking Tire"s One Take

If you are not familiar with Matt Farah and his The Smoking Tire video series, you are missing out!  I have know Matt since back when we did Bullrun in 2007.  Matt has always been an over the top car guy.  Sticking to his guns, he has created a following that is almost celebrity status.  Having appeared on TV shows with Adam Corolla, he also has complimented Google’s original content series Drive with other Vivid Racing favorites like Alex Roy of Gumball 3000.  Matt’s latest series is on his YouTube channel is something he calls “One Take”.  Its basically a GoPro mounted to the front of the car and inside the car where Matt takes you for a drive in a vehicle through some of his favorite California canyon roads.  As Matt says, “the only way to make money on the internet is without spending money!”  He has done this very well.  As I write this, the video has over 42,000 views and is less than 24 hours old.  If you are in your mid 30’s like myself and your first car was a Subaru WRX or Mitsubishi EVO, then you will relate.  In fact I never thought about this car that way till now.  Matt definitely breaks it down on his drive.  Background aside, I love his review of our Project Mercedes CLA45 AMG.  Check out the video and make sure to leave your comments!  You can also follow Matt on Instagram @thesmokingtire and Twitter @thesmokingtire.

Happy Customer with KW Coilovers on a Nissan 350Z

Here are some shots from our customers that just got his Christmas early from Vivid Racing.  He geared his Nissan 350Z up nicely with wheels, coilovers, clutch, brakes, intake, short shifter, and exhaust.  The 350Z has become a classic rear wheel drive sports car and even replacing the 240SX as the car to have.  Out of all the mods he did, the KW V3 coilover kit was one of the best.  Independent rebound and compression, the KW V3 are the ultimate street and track performing coilover out there.  The real question now is which is Mans Best Friend!  Follow his build and more pics on Instagram at boss350z.

Dark Horse ST Debuts Volk G25"s

When we started our Project Focus ST car, we set out to make something that no one else had. Through a series of body and performance upgrades, we think that we were able to accomplish a look for the Focus ST that was unlike any other. Since we’ve bought the ST we’ve been in contact with a lot of ST customers who are looking to build their own Project ST. This is a customer who we helped get that ultra unique edge on his ST project.

Our sales guy James (james@vividracing.com ext. 246) helped this guy get Volk G25′s re-drilled so they would fit his car. To our knowledge it is the first and only Focus ST to have this setup. Let us know if we’re wrong! But he didn’t stop with the wheels, he decided to give his Focus ST even more aggressive with a Body Styling Kit from Street Scene. You can’t get a sexy custom set of wheels without upgrading your suspension too. He chose the Eibach Sportline lowering Springs to get the job done. Eibach Sportline springs are made specifically for enthusiast that are looking for the maximum street performance with the lowest possible drop, and still have exceptional ride quality. To enhance his performance he went with the new Cobb Accessport V3 system and Cobb motor mount. Then, for a the cherry on top, a Cobb Shift Knob. Even though these upgrades have made a wold of difference for not only the appearance but the performance of his car, he sees a Milltek Exhaust and KW Coilover’s in his near future.

We will keep you update on this custom ST. But in the meantime, let us know what you think of the upgrades he did. Tell us in the comment section below or on Facebook, Instgram, or Twitter.

It’s a great coincidence that not only is he an enthusiast but a professional photographer as well! Here’s your car porn for the day…You’re Welcome!

BMW M3 E90 Installation of KW HAS Coilovers and Status Racing Seats

Even though we sold our Project BMW M3 E90 back in July, the new owner decided he was ready for more mods to this famed machine.  Having the factory EDC suspension with H&R springs and stock struts, it was time to upgrade.  Vivid Racing installed a set of the new KW HAS coilovers on the car.  Utilizing the factory setup, KW supplies new adjustable coil springs so you can lower the car and retain the amazing Electronic Dampening Suspension.  The suspension was lowered to the same ride height as the H&R springs to provide just a small tucked and flush fit of the Niche wheels.  Once installed and an alignment was completed, the owner drove the car and was estatic on how the suspension transformed the car.

In addition to the KW’s, we put the perfect upgrade inside the car from our partners, Status Racing.  Using their Icon Seat Configurator, we created a new set of Ring GT-X seats with blue carbon fiber shells.  The seats were done in all black ultrasuede with matching blue stitching.  The Ring GT-X was built to accomondate more of a daily driver with up to a 38 inch waist while keeping them secure on and off the track.  Enjoy the video and all these photos.  If interested in any of these BMW Accessories, give us a call!

Toyo Tires Debuts Focus ST Project Build at SEMA

The things that intrigued us about the Ford Focus ST when deciding on our next project car were; the turbo charge platform, sexy upgraded interior, and the eco-boost feature it offers. After the success with tuner cars like the FR-S and BR-Z, Ford wanted to follow suite with their own version of a tuner-type, tear down, track car. You see platforms like the FR-S, BR-Z and Focus ST and can’t help but think of all the aesthetic and performance possibilities there are. So with the wrap up of our Focus ST Project Car we’re going to recap the mods and leave you with some pictures from it’s public debut at SEMA in the Toyo Tires booth.

Here are a few of the upgrades we added. Shop all available Ford Focus ST Parts HERE. If you missed any of our Ford Focus Project Build, catch up HERE. Don’t miss out on the Ford Focus ST Video coverage of the build that we did either. Watch the transformation HERE.
