Porsche 991 Carrera S Roll Bar Equipped with H&R Goodies

Your probably saying to yourself, “where oh where can I get a roll bar for my Porsche 991?”  Or you might be saying, “man I need to sell a body part to get this Porsche 991!”  Eitherway, your gonna be stoked to just look at how this customers 2013 Porsche 991 Carrera S came out from the crew here at Vivid Racing.  Getting equipped with Agency Power X-Pipe exhaust and cold air intake, this customer let us make a all new bolt-in roll bar | harness bar for the car.

Having had a very successful run at making bolt-in roll bars to replace the discontinued Porsche Tequipment bars, the Agency Power 996/997 product needed to evolve to the 991 platform.  Considered a harness bar, the bolt-in unit gives the driver something to secure their racing harnesses to for track days while giving that GT3 race look.  What makes the other roll bars for the previous generation hard to sell is the shipping.  Since they are all 1 piece with just removable harness and diagonal bars, they have to ship on a pallet via truck freight.  Domestically this can cost up to $300 and international shipping can be thousands!  Diversifying this product, we made the all 1818 steel tube bolt-in bar to have extremely strong slip fit connections.  This product can now be installed without the removal of your seats, worrying about damaging your interior, and it ships regular at an affordable cost.  With the material and design, it is still very safe and provides the functionality and look 991 owners need.  This is a great add on product for weekend DE drivers.

In addition the Agency Power goodies, we also equipped the car with a set of H&R sport springs that work with the factory PASM suspension.  The springs drop the car about 1.0 inches front and rear.  Pushing  the wheels out is a fresh set of H&R black spacers featuring a 7mm up front and a 14mm in the rear.  Final touch is done with the H&R black lug bolts.

Part Paramedic, Part Race Car Driver

This is a fan of ours that we came across, after a couple emails back-and-forth, this guy shared some pics of his awesome custom creation. He lives a double life. He’s part Paramedic and part race car driver. Saving lives by day and demolishing dreams on the track by night. Here are a few mods he’s had done, along with pictures at the bottom. BMW M3 E46 Super Flush Aggressive Fitment with Volk Racing CE28N

If you want to work at Vivid Racing, you better make sure you embody the Vivid part!  One of our guys Garrett sure did with his 2005 BMW M3 E46.  One of the most iconic M3 chassis, the platform has been modded to the T by many performance outfits.  Companies such as VF Engineering boosting these cars to over 800HP with built motors on their stage 3 supercharger kits has become the norm.  So already having the car lowered on the best coilovers around from KW Suspensions, Garrett wanted to stance it out with some new shoes.

The all gloss black Volk Racing CE28N wheels are a super aggressive fitment for the E46 M3, but fit perfect with no issues as seen here.  The fronts are a 19×9.5 with a 22mm offset and the rears are a 19×10.5 also with a 22mm offset.  Up front the car is running Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires in 225/40/19 and 255/35/19 in the rear for a stretched look.  Garrett’s BMW M3 project is just getting underway so keep tabs on the upgrades as we post them on our BMW Gallery Here.

Installing the Throat of the Beast

Performance cars today come equipped with decent exhaust systems. However, we know that to unleash the real beast, you need the proper throat muscles to get that dominating roar from your vehicle. Time and time again, when we post a glimpse of a Meisterschaft  install we’ve done and people go crazy. Recently we’ve done some previews of the Meisterschaft with the Vavletronic. It is amazing how clear the distinction is between the closed and the open sound. When the valves are closed, it’s like a lions warning growl, like, “You don’t want any of this.” Then you open the valves, and out comes the beast’s roar. We’ve worked with other Valvetronic systems in the past, and sometimes when the valves are closed, the sound is muddled and doesn’t have that crisp snarl you’re looking for. We know Meisterschaft makes a great quality product because the sound is so obvious and impossible to ignore.

This is a loyal customer of ours who is a huge fan of Meisterschaft Exhausts and has bought multiples of them. He bought this particular one from our sales guy John G. (johng@vividracing.com ext. 228). He sent us some pictures from an install he was doing on a BMW X6 GTC. Check them out! If you’re in the market for a life-changing exhaust check out Meisterschaft HERE.

Porsche Car Club Race Through the Puerto Rican Jungle

This video is something out of a James bond movie. There’s a jungle setting and a slew of custom Porsches racing through the winding roads of the jungle terrain is where this scene is set. This video was sent to us by our sales guy John’s, (johng@vividracing.com ext. 228) customer from Puerto  Rico. He’s  a part of a Porsche car club down there. I don’t know if it’s the landscape that makes this video so alluring but once they take that first left, it’s like race horses coming out of the gate, you can’t help but watch the whole thing.

He bought some IBD plenum spacers from us and has been send in us pictures and videos ever since. If you want to see more of his videos check him out on YouTube TropixPR and while you’re at it, you might as well go and subscribe to our station, we have some cool videos too. Check out this video and let us know what you think on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

Final Mod List for Emily"s 350Z

This is a follow up blog to one we did in May. This 350Z already has looks to kill, but with the recent upgrades, it has the performance to back it up. This is our receptionist Emily’s car. Her car represents the fact that there’s more that meets the eye then a pretty set of wheels. In the last blog we were showing you how to install a set of Berk Test Pipes. Since then she’s added a few things that help make her point…

She started with Motordyne Plenum Spacers, Ksport Coilovers set at a three inch drop in the front and three and a half in the back. In addition some True header backed with three inch pipes and RSR mufflers. Tack on the Vortech V3 Supercharger with nine pounds of boost and she has no problem holding her own. She defined the body with a Veilside rear wing and Seibon carbon hood, front lip and grill delete. To top it all off she put on a set of Forgstar F14′s 19×10 +20 in the front and 19×11 +21 in the back.

With that list of upgrades, I think we rest our case. Here are some shots of the final product. Tell us what you think of the upgrades on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

Andrew Comrie-Picard"s Top 5 Sleeper Picks

In the aftermarket industry, we are all about taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary. We want cars to be louder, faster, and sexier. The more attention the car attracts, the better. However, there is something to be said for the quiet confidence of a car, and that’s where the term sleeper comes in. The car might look like a stock Hyundai, but when it’s killing you off the line at a stop light, you might take a second glance at it.

We came across this Yahoo Auto video hosted by race car driver Andrew Comrie-Picard. It was his top 5 sleeper picks. These picks are for those daily drivers who want a little spice in their life. For those soccer mom’s who want to double as race car drivers on the road, these are the cars that make you look twice. Here are his Top 5 Sleeper Picks,

1. Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec. –  Comrie-Picard makes a joke that the Genesis can be going past a cop going 110 and when the cop sees it is a Hyundai, they will think their gun is broken. “Hyundai’s don’t go that fast,” and that, is the ultimate sleeper effect.

2. Cadillac CTS-V (Hatchback) – The luxury hatchback and golfer’s getaway. The Cadillac CTS-V is the reitee’s sleeper dream. Cadillac’s are known for performance and luxury and CTV-S doesn’t skimp on either. Kick it up with 6 speed manual transmission and you’re doin’ work on the road

3.  Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT - This SUV will turn soccer mom’s, and dad’s, into daily demons. With 470 HP and V8 engine, this Jeep is mean.

4. Ford Taurus SHO- These were the cars you wouldn’t be caught in, in the 90′s. Now they’re kicking ass and taking names on the road. Thanks to a couple key roles, like the one in Men in Black III, the Taurus SHO is quiet confidence at it’s finest.

5. Volkswagen Golf R - This is the Rabbit on roids. This thing doesn’t only hold it’s own in horsepower, but the torque to back it up when it matters most.

No matter what project cars we make, our roots are based in being car enthusiasts. We appreciate quality and power when we see it. We might initially pass over it these five cars, but sleepers a synonymous with stealth. We want to know what cars you think are the ultimate sleepers? Do you agree with his list? Which cars do you think he’s missing. Put your vote in the comment section below or on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Check out the video and full article by Yahoo Auto and Andrew Comrie-Picard HERE.

GruppeM just released their Carbon Fiber Ram Air Intake System for the Honda S2000; however, this product was not available in the states for some time. They just got clearance to sell this system in North America. GruppeM released the information via Facebook. Here is a little about the system straight from GruppeM,

“The GruppeM RAM Cold Air Intake (CAI), is GruppeM’s top-of-the-line high-performance intake system. The intake features a racing K&N cone filter, which permits maximum air flow while retaining proper filtering capabilities. The filter housing is designed to provide optimal channeling of fresh cold air, into the extremely efficient modified K&N racing cone filter. The GruppeM Intake is built from carbon fiber, for ultra lightweight with extreme durability. The surface finish and fitment is second to none. JLine Wheels on a Throwback Honda

Coming off of Nisei we thought we would keep the classic JDM pics rollin. We saw a ton of the latest aftermarket upgrades for the new and more classic Honda models. The Nisei Car Show presented by Showoff and Stance Nation in Little Tokyo was awesome. We didn’t want the fun to end, so here’s a car that got some JLine wheels from us and has been a show stopper ever since. The aggressive stance makes this Honda a beast on JLine wheels. The carbon lip gives the front an elongated look, which makes the wheels look even more hostile.

Check out the pics and let us know what you think of the setup in the comment section below, or on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Focus ST Teaser with Work Wheels and NEW AP Parts

Our Project Ford Focus ST is coming along and almost ready to debut on the streets.  Our widebody flares are in the mold making process to finish off in carbon fiber.  We have started a new carbon fiber front grill replacement to make the front end even more aggressive.  To add to the carbon theme, we have also designed a very simple carbon chin spoiler which gives the front bumper a little more front end grunt than before.  Having 2 sets of wheels for the car to test out, our first set is these super deep Work Wheels with Toyo Tires.  We did the test fit and lowered the car to get the look and fender measurements.  However are awesome chrome sky blue Niche wheels will be going soon enough once new tires arrive!

On the part manufacturing side with Agency Power, we have just completed our lower billet aluminum motor mount.  This mount features the same urethane bushing that we have used for years in our Mitsubishi EVO motor mounts.  In addition to our already designed aluminum rear toe arms, we have finished our adjustable “boomerang” billet aluminum camber arms.  Both are being anodized red to match the car but will be available in several colors for customers once ready.

Enjoy the pics and stay tuned!
