Welcoming in 2013 with our first major production of the year!  A new intro, more of the best quality, real life video you will see.  One year ago we released the first of many incredible Vivid Racing videos featuring our Mercedes C63 which is now nearing 1 Million views!  So… Vivid Racing is very proud to debut this documentary we created about the experience and emotion of the 2012 Targa Newfoundland Rally. The 2 part documentary features first a musical component with the sounds of behind the wheel as you race through the 6 days of competition. The second part gives you first hand interviews of what its like competing in the Targa Rally. This full HD production will be like nothing you have ever seen before. Enkei Releases New Wheels for 2013

Enkei Wheels are one of the most common 1pc cast wheels found on many weekend racers and street cars.  With its Japanese heritage, Enkei has brought many new styles to the market place which have become industry standard.  Enkei heavily promotes its tuning series wheels in the Formula Drift series as well as listening to the latest trends and offering wheels for throwback rides.  With 2013 comes the availability of several new wheels.  Check all the Enkei Wheels available here.

First, Enkei has dropped their new M52 wheel.  Available in hyper black, matte black, or special order matte gray, the wheel can be had in 15 16 17 and 18 inch sizes.  The split square spoke design offers a unique contrast to traditional mesh or thick spoke wheels.

Enkei’s BR7 which is available in 16 17 and 18 inch sizes is available in silver machined, matte gray, and special order in matte black.  This wheel is a thick 7 spoke style that is a kinda throwback to the late 90′s.

The RSF5 is a very traditional split 5 spoke design that always looks good on any type of vehicle.  Its sharp cuts and hyper silver or matte black finish is perfect to add in 15-18 inch sizes.

The final wheel from Enkei’s new 2013 line is the Compe.  Definitely a retro throwback, it comes in 15 and 16 inch sizes.  Its rounded 8 spoke design would look perfect on the older E30 BMW, Datsun, Corolla, and other classics.  These are available in both matte gunmetal and closs white.

Project BMW M5 F10 Photoshoot with Sneak Peak of Full Titanium Exhaust

We have been quiet here while still doing some more work on our Project Cars.  Most recently, we took our SEMA built BMW M5 F10 out for a photoshoot here in Gilbert, Arizona.  If you have not followed this Project Car here, it is well equipped.  With our full Agency Power carbon fiber package including front lip, hood, rear trunk, rear diffuser, the V8 twin turbo sedan also features H&R lowering springs, SSR 3piece wheels, GruppeM cold air intake, and Velos ECU Flash.  Having tested both the Eisenmann and Meisterschaft exhaust systems, we thought we would sneak a pick of our new Agency Power full titanium catback exhaust for the M5.  In total, the full exhaust including mufflers, midpipes, etc weighs only 36.4lbs!  Check out all of our BMW F10 M5 Tuning Parts here and stay tuned for more installation and video updates!

Tokyo Auto Salon 2013 Insane Vehicles on Display

On the bucket list is to get to the Tokyo Auto Salon show in Japan.  Having been to the concrete jungle back in 2002 for fun, Japan is one of the most exciting cities ever.  TAS is much like SEMA here in the states except with way more intense builds and collections of JDM stuff we could only imagine.  Scoping out some blogs and forums, we have come across these pictures that truly embody what TAS is all about.  Hope you enjoy!

Volk TE37SL Wheels Fitted to Subaru STI Hatch

The Subaru WRX STI is very dear to us here at Vivid Racing.  After all, its what started this whole thing!  Having built one of each body style with our 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008 Project Subaru’s, we simply can’t get enough of good looking ones.  All the way from Australia is our customer Geremy and his black 2008 Subaru STI 5-door hatch.  He has given it the official flush look with a set of Volk Racing TE37SL wheels.  At all 4 corners, the wheels are a 18×10 +40mm offset.  I remember back in the day you were crazy to put a 18×8 on a WRX!  Check out more Volk Racing Wheels Here.

Classic Mitsubishi EVO IX Tastefully Modded

One of our Instagram friends recently sent us some photos of his ride.  The Mitsubishi EVO IX looks well done in a simple black and silver combo.  With the addition of a APR carbon wind splitter, Enkei NT-03 wheels, and some horsepower mods, we salute erenc519 for a great job!  Having owned and driven a Mitsubishi EVO VIII, this is one of the best cars ever made.  Its raw sense of handling, quick power, and well balanced awd system makes this car one of our favorite project rides ever.  Check out more Mitsubishi EVO IX Engine Parts here.

BMW X5M Meets Vorsteiner, Niche, and Meisterschaft

When you got money, you spend money.  Why else would you need to trick out a SUV.  What once was a soccer moms alternative to a mini van is now a super awesome pavement grinder that can stack up to some of the best cars on the market.  The BMW X5M V8 twin turbo is just as tuneable as other turbocharged vehicles.  With a little juice from a Velos ECU flash and a Meisterschaft exhaust, the X5M is pushing some serious ponies.  Just to prove its power, the owner went to a private airstrip and raced his buddy in a Ferrari California…  End of the day is he can win drag races and haul the family!

In addition to the performance parts, Performance Specialist Josh dressed up the car with a set of Niche 3 piece A250 Pulse wheels.  The wheels have a matte black face with a gloss black lip and inner barrel.  To keep it clean, the 22×10 and 22×12 wheels feature hidden hardware as well as deep concave faces.  Niche wheels made by MHT in Southern California is the actual manufacture of many other wheel companies providing that high quality with quicker lead times and better pricing.  Check out all the Niche 3 piece and monoblock wheels here.

Cusco Releases Full Rear Suspension Package for Scion FRS/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86

Cusco, one of the leaders in suspension components based in Japan, has just released their full suspension package for the latest tuner car sensation.  The shared platform of the Scion FRS, Subaru BRZ, and Toyota GT86 make up the newest rear wheel drive coupe.  Its popularity as seen at the 2012 SEMA show, proves why every company is on board to get out new products for this platform.  The rear suspension of the Subaru Engine based sports coupe shares most of the same parts as the earlier Subaru WRX 5-door from 2008-2012.  With that, companies like Agency Power and Cusco have been able to deliver proven suspension upgrades such as rear control arms, rear sway bar, rear sway bar links, and unique to Cusco, rear under braces, trailing rods, differential brace, and lateral links.  View all our FRS, BRZ, GT86 Tuning Parts here.

Alcon Brakes Releases CCX Ceramic Replacement Rotors for Porsche

Following the successful introduction of the Nissan GT-R CCX Super Kit, Alcon is now applying the CCX technology to disc kits specifically designed to replace Porsche PCCB rotors.  Applications such as the Porsche 997 Turbo, GT3, GT2 can now benefit from the incredible racing design and engineering that Alcon brings to the game.

Carbon ceramic brakes are nothing new in the world of high performance road cars but Alcon CCX differs in that they work supremely well in all conditions. Furthermore, CCX brakes do not suffer from premature oxidation as other carbon ceramic brakes are prone to do so at elevated temperatures. With the CCX kit for the 911, Alcon set out to achieve something that had not been done before: to provide carbon ceramic brakes that are as suitable for everyday road use as they are on the race track. The CCX package is specifically designed to be fade resistant, provide excellent “bite” even when cold and improve the driver “feel”.

What’s included:

• Larger diameter discs mounted on aluminum hats.
  • Front 390mm (up from stock 380mm)
  • Rear 360mm (up from stock 350mm)
  • Caliper spacers include to raise caliper for bigger disc.
  • Alcon CCX-1 pads front and rear.

The benefits:

• The key difference between Alcon CCX and PCCB is that the CCX rotors can be re-surfaced multiple times for a fraction of the cost of new discs.
  • If PCCB rotors oxidize due to overheating, there is nothing that can be done to recover them.
  • Alcon CCX discs can be sent back to Alcon for re-surfacing, bringing them back to as-new condition.
  • Increased brake torque provided by larger diameter discs.
  • Alcon CCX kit can be fitted to 997s as a replacement for PCCB or standard iron rotors.
