PSHHH - Just a Subaru WRX

Love those customer photos!  Jon has this pretty sweet Subaru WRX which is one of my favorite body styles from 2011-2014.  He has taken no shortcuts in the mods.  The car is sitting on Airlift Performance air suspension enabling Jon to give it that perfect park or stance.  Helping the suspension is a set of ISC rear control arms and Megan Racing Toe Arms.  You got to have that camber and toe dialed with you are going to drop to the pavement!  Right now the car has a set of Varrsteon ES6 18×9.5 wheels but he has a set of Work VSKF 18×10 wheels waiting to be mounted any day.  Performance is still there keeping with Subaru heritage featuring a Cobb Intake, Tsudo downpipe, Nameless Catback, and a custom Stage 2 ECU Tune.  Its simple add on styling comes from a BT Aero Front Lip and Galvez custom side skirts.  Want to know more about this car and see other pictures?  Hit jon up on Instagram @its_canda.

Customer does Complete STI Conversion

We haven’t posted anything Subaru related in a while it feels like so when we got these pictures in of this customer’s project Subaru, we had to share them. This customer did a complete STI conversion on it. For those of you who are new to the tuner world, a complete STI conversion means pulling out the U.S.-spec five-speed transmission and 227-hp engine and replacing it with the 271-horsepower, J-spec model. There are arguments as to which model is better but those true tuners will appreciate the time and physical labor it takes to make the swap. Few people have attempted, and we’re pumped to have picture from a customer ballsy enough to complete the rare transformation. It took this guy and his father 16 straight days of work to complete the job. Talk about an epic father son project.

If you’ve been inspired to do an STI conversion of your own, or any other car conversion, we want to hear about it. Tell us about it in the comment section below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Email sales@vividracing.com for help with your project car or deciding on what your next project should be. The first two picture are a before and after. Keep scrolling for the rest of the build pictures and a complete Mod List.

Subaru STI 2011 Time Attack Proper Setup

Almost 3 years ago we showed off a customers 2011 Subaru STI sedan from south of the border in Mexico.  This customer of ours has built hundreds of cars for him and his friends.  When we first debuted this STI here, we showed off some of the incredible parts it was running like the Brembo big brake kit, Tein super racing coilovers, Agency Power control arms and sway bars, plus a lot more.  Having had a set of Volk Racing TE37SL wheels and a set of Advan RS wheels on slicks for the track, this Subaru was built to win.  Fast forward 3 years later and he has forwarded us some updated pictures.  Now equipped with his sponsors livery, he has also added a APR carbon fiber rear wing to improve downforce at top speeds.  Also noticeably different is the Seibon carbon fiber vented race hood.  At the end of the day, if he does not beat you in this, he will probably just jump in his Porsche GT3RS 4.0L, Ferrari 16M Scuderia, or maybe his buddies Bugatti Veyron!  Love the stickers!

Volk TE37SL Wheels Fitted to Subaru STI Hatch

The Subaru WRX STI is very dear to us here at Vivid Racing.  After all, its what started this whole thing!  Having built one of each body style with our 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008 Project Subaru’s, we simply can’t get enough of good looking ones.  All the way from Australia is our customer Geremy and his black 2008 Subaru STI 5-door hatch.  He has given it the official flush look with a set of Volk Racing TE37SL wheels.  At all 4 corners, the wheels are a 18×10 +40mm offset.  I remember back in the day you were crazy to put a 18×8 on a WRX!  Check out more Volk Racing Wheels Here.

I guess that the 300 horsepower that a stock Subaru STI comes with just is not good enough for some.  That is why these guys built their STI to be almost 4 times the stock power!  Working with Performance Specialist Josh here at Vivid Racing, Eduardo equipped his Subaru with nothing but the best in performance parts.  Starting with the power, the engine was built with Brian Crower cams, ARP head studs, Darton sleeves, Wossner pistons, and Carrillo rods.  Powered by a Full Race twin scroll turbo kit, the massive Garrett GTX-4508R turbocharger pushes boost to the engine.  Providing enough fuel with Injector Dynamics 2000cc injectors and a Aeromotive triple fuel pump, the entire power is controlled from a Link Electro standalone ECU system.  With some other extras including a Cosworth oil pump and head gaskets, Eduardo is also using upgraded Okada project coilpacks for improved spark.  The power is put to the ground via a Exedy triple plate clutch kit.  If you don’t look good, your still slow, so he has improved the stance with a set of JRZ Coilovers and Advan RZ-DF wheels.  You know what else?  A lot more mods then we can write about!  Check out the video of this thing laying rubber to the dyno! 1100 Horsepower Subaru STI Rips on the Dyno
