Mishimoto"s Limited Edition and Very Unique Shift Knob

At first glance you might think these are hand grips for a BMX bike or motorcycle.  But in actuality, this is a new limited edition product from Mishimoto designed to give enthusiasts something very different.  The designer of this knob is an avid mountain biker so no suprise when he came up with this design, but it has function too!  Lets see what Mishimoto said…

“This piece is also the heaviest of our new set of shift knobs, weighing in at 476 grams. If a heavy, weighted shift knob is your thing, this might be the one for you.  Once we tested the “feel factor” for this piece and wrapped up the design work for the different components and features, a few final prototypes were created.  The base provides the connection point with the shift lever.  The knob on the right includes one of our universal thread adapters, which will enable fitment for a variety of vehicle makes and models.  This shift knob is made from three separate components, which can be taken apart for further customization. Below is a cutaway showing the internal features.  The components on the left and right are constructed from CNC-machined aluminum. The center sleeve that serves as the grip is made from an engineered thermoplastic.”

Customer does Complete STI Conversion

We haven’t posted anything Subaru related in a while it feels like so when we got these pictures in of this customer’s project Subaru, we had to share them. This customer did a complete STI conversion on it. For those of you who are new to the tuner world, a complete STI conversion means pulling out the U.S.-spec five-speed transmission and 227-hp engine and replacing it with the 271-horsepower, J-spec model. There are arguments as to which model is better but those true tuners will appreciate the time and physical labor it takes to make the swap. Few people have attempted, and we’re pumped to have picture from a customer ballsy enough to complete the rare transformation. It took this guy and his father 16 straight days of work to complete the job. Talk about an epic father son project.
