On the quest to become the 13th driver to finish in less than 10 minutes and break his personal record, Jeff Zwart races his 800 horsepower Porsche 911 GT3 Turbo Cup up the 12.42 mile Pikes Peak International Hill Climb course.

The Pike Peak International Hill Climb is the second oldest auto race in the United States. It consists of 156 turns that stretch out over a distance of 12.42 miles ending at the 14110 foot summit of Pikes. This race isn’t for the inexperienced or the faint of heart! Liberty Walked Porsche 997 with Agency Power & Status Racing

This Porsche 997 Turbo was an absolute show stopper at SEMA and has made it’s way around the blogs and forums over the past month or so.  Everything on this Porsche is dialed and we are stoked for it to have some of our affiliated companies products on it.  Starting off with the exterior color, its so unique and without the graphics would be kind of bland but it really works.  The tan interior is usually a challenge with bright color cars and most racing seats would be black or grey, red or blue.  But they did a custom set of Status Racing GT-X seats with matching tan leather and then custom cushion inserts.  Inside the car features our Agency Power Roll Bar with integrated removal harness bar.  This is a product we introduced back in 2008 and has been a huge success as well as our new version for the 991 Turbo and Carrera.  Also on the car is a set of Agency Power boost hoses.  The rest of the performance parts are unknown but I am sure its got the punch to back up the style knowing who this owner is as a past Vivid Racing customer :)!

Of course on the outside of the car features the Liberty Walk widebody kit.  There was no shortage of fender flares at this years SEMA show.  The Japanese aero kit company has come very strong with kits for cars like the Porsche 997 Turbo, Mini Cooper S, SRT Hellcat, and others since the debut of their Lamborghini Aventador and Ferrari 458 kits almost 2 years ago.  Hey it was JDM 10 years ago and now its all about wide and low.  We dig it!

Alcon Brakes Releases CCX Ceramic Replacement Rotors for Porsche

Following the successful introduction of the Nissan GT-R CCX Super Kit, Alcon is now applying the CCX technology to disc kits specifically designed to replace Porsche PCCB rotors.  Applications such as the Porsche 997 Turbo, GT3, GT2 can now benefit from the incredible racing design and engineering that Alcon brings to the game.

Carbon ceramic brakes are nothing new in the world of high performance road cars but Alcon CCX differs in that they work supremely well in all conditions. Furthermore, CCX brakes do not suffer from premature oxidation as other carbon ceramic brakes are prone to do so at elevated temperatures. With the CCX kit for the 911, Alcon set out to achieve something that had not been done before: to provide carbon ceramic brakes that are as suitable for everyday road use as they are on the race track. The CCX package is specifically designed to be fade resistant, provide excellent “bite” even when cold and improve the driver “feel”.

What’s included:

• Larger diameter discs mounted on aluminum hats.
  • Front 390mm (up from stock 380mm)
  • Rear 360mm (up from stock 350mm)
  • Caliper spacers include to raise caliper for bigger disc.
  • Alcon CCX-1 pads front and rear.

The benefits:

• The key difference between Alcon CCX and PCCB is that the CCX rotors can be re-surfaced multiple times for a fraction of the cost of new discs.
  • If PCCB rotors oxidize due to overheating, there is nothing that can be done to recover them.
  • Alcon CCX discs can be sent back to Alcon for re-surfacing, bringing them back to as-new condition.
  • Increased brake torque provided by larger diameter discs.
  • Alcon CCX kit can be fitted to 997s as a replacement for PCCB or standard iron rotors.

Porsche 997 GT3 Cup Car Brakes From Brembo and Pagid

One of our customers from the Gold Coast of Australia got his Porsche GT3 Cup race car braking much better in competition with the assistance of Brembo and Pagid.  Performance Specialist Ahmed advised him on what would provide the best braking for his track functions.  We equipped the car with a set of Brembo’s 2 piece floating rotor replacements for the stock rotors.  The front rotors are a slotted pattern in a 380x34mm and the rears a 350x32mm with the proper anulus for the GT3 needs.  The floating rotors use the patented McLaren hardware which gives the brake pad a true centerline for even heat dissipation, pad wear, and saves several pounds of rotational weight compared to the stock 1 piece rotors.  To help with stopping, we went with the Pagid Yellow RS19 brake pads in the front and rear.  These brake pads are a top choice for weekend racers.  Taking a short bit to warm up, they have great bite and last for long endurance runs.  The RS19 heat coefficient and compound gets the job done without destroying rotors.  Want to see more Porsche Brake Parts?
