Cusco Releases New Braided Stainless Clutch Cables

Cusco just released a new series of braided stainless clutch cables for Mitsubishi, Subaru and Toyota. Using aircraft-grade PTFE stainless, Teflon-inner lined hose, they’ve achieved a design that provides both performance and longevity.

When compared to standard OEM rubber hoses, stainless reinforcements resist expansion over a high range of temperatures and keep contamination at minimum. With such characteristics, fluid-dynamic forces are translated with much higher precision from the pedal to clutch mechanism.

WP Pro EX6 360 Clubsport Big Brakes Shown Off

WP Pro Brakes has some pretty amazing engineering for the big brake industry.  We recently showed off their new EX8 caliper here, but have these brand new photos of the EX6 360 clubsport kit now to share!  This is the same kit we are running on our Project Mercedes CLA45 that features the very unique carbon fiber cooling duct cover.  The kit also features the very unique saw blade style rotor which is a 2 piece floating design.  Similar to what is used in Grand Prix Street Bike racing, the saw blade rotor is extremely light weight and when combined with a race pad, gives unbeatable stopping power.  These calipers do come in standard colors or can be custom done in any finish.  Check out more of the WP Pro Big Brakes Here.

900 Horsepower Mitsubishi EVO 7

Our friend Hassan from Bahrain has this awesome Mitsubishi EVO 7 fully built making over 900 horsepower!  We shared some of his pictures and story before here.  The Mitsubishi EVO 7 was so sought after in the USA that companies were trying to figure out how to import them in.  The rarity of this car and style along with it’s famed rally history put it on the must have list.  However much like the Nissan Skyline, it was just not meant to be.  Some EVO 7’s trickled in like this one that was here in Arizona, while others like us, did the EVO 7 conversion.  Thankfully though the Mitsubishi EVO VIII and EVO IX were a huge hit in the states.  The EVO X came out and was becoming a bit more of a comfortable ride lacking that of the rawness that the previous 3 versions had.  Eventually, Mitsubishi has killed off the EVO after this year.  So I guess Subaru won this battle.  Either way, we still love the older Evolution’s like Hassan’s.  Check out the pics and mod list below!

AEM E85 High Flow Fuel Pumps On Special!

Boosted vehicles are super easy to make more power with.  You simply turn up the boost!  However there is a limit to what you can do on this for the safety of your engine.  This is why most tuners will suggest running 109 octane or if tuned for it, running C16 leaded race gas.  The cooler burner fuel helps your vehicle run the increase horsepower and torque from the upped boost levels.  At $10 per gallon though, full time race gas cars can get expensive.  This is where E85 comes into play.

E85 is an alcohol based fuel that is 85% Ethanol and 15% Gasoline.  Having a higher octane rating, slows down the burn rate of the combustion cycle. This means that it is possible to increase the boost level, compression ratio, and/or  timing advance and return the mixture to a burn rate similar to that of gasoline, having a comparable level of ’safety’ in the cylinder, a similar mixture volatility, but albeit at a much higher power level.

On average it is not uncommon to see power increases of more than 30% in a turbocharged vehicle over “pump” fuel and more than 10% power increases are not uncommon over a comparable unleaded race fuel but again every application is different and there is no golden rule. The bottom line is though is it is unlikely you will ever see a car go backwards by making the switch, they will always make more power on E85.  Because of the properties that make up E85, in most vehicles, it is necessary to change out certain fuel components such as the fuel pump or injectors.

The AEM E85 Fuel Pump is designed for in-tank installation on high performance naturally aspirated and forced induction vehicles. It flows 320 lph (84 gph) at 43 PSI (please refer to the chart for fuel pump horsepower versus pressure for various applications and fuel types). AEM’s E85 Fuel Pump features robust internal construction that is designed to withstand the low lubricity characteristics of ethanol and methanol fuels, and has been tested to work with ethanol fuels up to E100, methanol fuels up to M100 and all types of gasoline.

Victory Function Flared Out on this Mitsubishi EVO X

Victory Function’s upgraded flare kits for the Mitsubishi EVO X are definitely a must have upgrade.  As we recently showcased the development process that VF does, all front fenders are 1 piece full replacements.  They are not add-on or rivet on type of fenders.  The front VF-01 wide blister fenders feature the VF-01B carbon fiber inserts to further stylize them up.  The rear fenders cannot be 1 piece because of the size of the entire rear quarter panel.  So Victory Function makes these as an add on.  However they still look amazing.  The VF-01R wide rear fenders flow with the body lines and air path as intended from the upgraded fronts.

Exedy Releases New Advanced Clutch Upgrades

Exedy has been one of the top choices for replacement clutch kits for many of the hottest JDM cars for quite some time.  Their twin plate and triple plate clutch kits became the staple in the Mitsubishi EVO high horsepower world.  As an OEM supplier for many Japanese vehicles including producing the clutch discs for more advanced transmission like the Nissan GT-R, Exedy is continuing to expand it’s line up.  At the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Exedy released several new applications to cover the latest popular tuner cars.  Exedy Clutch Kits are designed in stages to give you different types of driving needs from street, track, drift, and drag.  Whether you need an OEM clutch or a full race system to hold 1000 horsepower, Exedy has an application for your needs.

• One of the applications they released is for the 2011-2015 Ford Mustang GT.  The Hyper Single Clutch Kit features a one piece chromoly flywheel integrated into the clutch system.  It features a clamp load of 3597 lbs with a torque rating of 506 ft/lbs at the wheels!  This clutch kit will also fit the Boss 302 models.


• For those off-roading their Jeeps and slipping that clutch as they climb over obscene obstacles, Exedy now has a Stage 1 clutch kit available.  It has a clamp load of 2473 lbs and a torque rating of 314 ft/lbs.  The stage 1 clutch is a perfect OEM replacement.  This kit is designed for the Jeep 4.0L 1997-2006.


• Want to rev up your Acura NSX much faster?  Check out the new Exedy Twin Disk kit with flywheel.  It features an organic compound clutch disc for easy engagement and has a clamp load of 1766lbs.  Torque rating is 637 ft/lbs to the flywheel.  The discs are 200mm in diameter for better surface connectivity.


• The new Toyota 4.0L offroad platforms are getting hammered around and need more force to the ground.  For the FJ Cruiser, Tacoma, and Tundra 4.0L, Exedy new Stage 2 clutch kit is the answer.  It features 2069 lbs of Clamp Load and 360 ft/lbs for torque at the wheels.


• Everyones favorite rotary Mazda RX8 is a great rear wheel drive track monster.  For the 2003-2007 1.3L, Exedy Stage 1 OEM replacement clutch is available.  It features a torque rating of 306 ft/lbs at the flywheel and supersedes their old 10803A kit.
