SRT Viper Sneak Peak with Loads of Carbon Fiber

Its that time of year again where everyone is getting ready to spend a week of their life in fabulous Las Vegas, staring at the industries most well equipped vehicles.  Queue music… Its SEMA!  For the rest of us not able to make the trek to car Mecca, we live vicariously through blogs and forums showcasing pictures and videos.  So we are starting ours off ahead of the curve.  Here is a sneak peak of our 2013 SRT Viper with all its new carbon fiber upgrades that will be debuting at the Seibon booth.  Having Seibon as a partner last year with our BMW M5 F10, we wanted to go that extra step for this years event.  Upgrades from Seibon include a carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber front lip, carbon fiber canards, carbon fiber side skirts, carbon fiber diffuser, carbon fiber tail light surround, and carbon fiber wing.  One thing to note with the carbon fiber hood is Seibon’s ability to have a custom weave done that allows this giant hood to be done as 1 piece.  The top and bottom are not seamed at all which from a production aspect is quite an accomplishment.

Along with the Niche wheels, Pirelli tires, Agency Power intake and exhaust this already equipped boss machine just became that much more awesome.  You might be thinking, “yeah thats a lot of carbon”.  But don’t worry we will have a suprise instore for those that go to the show!

First Look at the Niche Essen Cast Wheels from MHT

Not only is SEMA right around the corner, but it’s also a month away from Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. People are slowly releasing their new products before the holiday season. Which leaves us with no shortage of new products and great deals!

MHT Wheels kills it with new products this time of year. They release new wheels for some of our most beloved wheel brands like, Niche Wheels. MHT is sending Niche out the gates early this year, with their brand new ESSEN Cast Wheels.  Although Niche is known for their jaw dropping forged wheels, the new Niche ESSEN Sport Series gives you the same quality, but at a fraction of the price that forged wheels carry. The ESSEN come in Silver Machined or Matte Black. They did a shoot with them on an Audi A7, but Niche lists  Camaro SS/ LS, Jaguar, 350Z, F01 7 series, Audi S7 and S8 or Old SL and CLS for other possible applications, pending the desired size specifications. They can be purchased in the following sizes:

  • 19×8.5
  • 19×10
  • 20×9.0
  • 20×10
  • 20×10.5

Customer does Complete STI Conversion

We haven’t posted anything Subaru related in a while it feels like so when we got these pictures in of this customer’s project Subaru, we had to share them. This customer did a complete STI conversion on it. For those of you who are new to the tuner world, a complete STI conversion means pulling out the U.S.-spec five-speed transmission and 227-hp engine and replacing it with the 271-horsepower, J-spec model. There are arguments as to which model is better but those true tuners will appreciate the time and physical labor it takes to make the swap. Few people have attempted, and we’re pumped to have picture from a customer ballsy enough to complete the rare transformation. It took this guy and his father 16 straight days of work to complete the job. Talk about an epic father son project.

If you’ve been inspired to do an STI conversion of your own, or any other car conversion, we want to hear about it. Tell us about it in the comment section below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Email sales@vividracing.com for help with your project car or deciding on what your next project should be. The first two picture are a before and after. Keep scrolling for the rest of the build pictures and a complete Mod List.

Stay Grounded at Airplane Speeds

With SEMA right around the corner, APR Performance is one of the companies we can’t wait to see. Since 2002 they have been debut ground breaking aero parts for the most popular makes and models at SEMA. Although we love the aesthetic enhancements APR adds, we admire that APR’s primary focus,  is how their parts are going to help the car aerodynamically. APR Performance, not only adds performance value to your car, they give you a great look too. This is their newest part for the Nissan GT-R. Their Front Air Dam allows your GT-R to stay grounded, at airplane speeds. Here’s what they had to say about their new front Air Dam,

“Underbody components such as front air dams, under-trays, and rear diffusers are essential for maximizing aerodynamic performance. This Front Air Dam includes two integrated brake cooling ducts (2.5″ inner diameter). These cooling ducts can be used to attach cooling hoses (not included) that lead to the brake system for maximum braking consistency on the track. This Front Air Dam also utilizes a built-in aerodynamic splitter design that creates a high-pressure region of air atop the protruding surface, further reducing lift and increasing net downforce.”

The APR Performance Front Air Dam integrates with the factory front bumper to:

- Reduce lift
- Increase front-end stability
- Improve high-speed cornering grip

Ford Focus ST on Fire with this Photoshoot

The Ford Focus ST has been under the knife since January 2013 and we definitely have a lot to show for it.  With a cumulation of performance parts including the intercooler, exhaust, intake, and more from from Agency Power, we have also had the opportunity to build this entire aero kit enhancement out of carbon fiber.  The Focus ST in its normal off the shelf look is not a bad looking car.  But it just seems to skinny for such a hot hatch.  With a majority of us relating to the rally cars of WRC, this Focus really needed more of a squat than a stance.  With our own in-house composite department (aka the meth lab), we created these parts taking queues from many different rally car photos of the past couple decades.  The hard line fenders are designed to accompany a 10.5 inch wide wheel like these Work Wheels Meister with Toyo Tires we have on.  The bottoms of the fenders have a hard straight edge similar to the Ford Fiesta R2 rally car (seen here).  The monster carbon fiber grill serves both a function and form.  It definitely helps give more airflow to the larger intercooler while hiding the factory bumper beam.  Giving it a larger mouth was influenced from Brian Deegan’s Ford Fiesta rally car (seen here).  The front center lip was a simple add-on to help curve out the front bumper.  But the side carbon fiber wind splitters really help bring out the width of the cars new stance.  Finally the rear diffuser is a kick to the Focus RS of Europe (seen here).  Instead of building a complete rear apron, we wanted to build a add-on part which also gave the empty rear end some more aerodynamics.

This is just one photoshoot of many to come.  Don’t worry Vivid Racing Video fans, we will have something for you too!  Interested in these aero parts for your car?  Well they can be had, but they will cost you a bit.  Making them in-house is not cheap.  We are sending these parts out to be made in production but we anticipate 90 days before we see parts.  You can always contact our Ford Focus ST specialist at 1.480.966.3040 x228 for more information.  Photos by Cody Gephart.

Sneak Peak of Vorsteiner Kit, KW Lowering Module, and Meisterschaft Exhaust

Our Panamera Turbo has been undergoing some mods and we have been filming and documenting them with incredible detail.  So much that we have yet to finish these videos but soon will!  So we thought we would give you a sneak peak at what has been going on.  First off, we could not be more excited than to have the Vorsteiner aero kit for the Porsche Panamera ready to be installed.  We have made Vivid Racing synomonous with Vorsteiner in many of our Past Project Cars.  Most recognized is our Porsche 997 Turbo and our Mercedes C63 with over 1Million views on YouTube.  Like all other Vorsteiner products, the attention to detail and quality is over the top.  The front bumper available in their DVWP material with carbon fiber lip is the main focal point.  The bumper is predrilled for parking sensors which is a plus.  The beautiful carbon fiber 1×1 weave of the front lip looks better than a OEM factory part.  Most impressive is how Vorsteiner provides their QR codes on the parts and stickers of authenticity to ensure you are getting the best of the best.  The bumper includes the trim to mount the factory DRL/signal lights and includes new intercooler ducts.  In addition to the front bumper, we also got the add-on duck tail which definitely makes the rear look more aggressive.  For those that are iffy on the Panamera styling, this is the fix!  The spoiler is a huge selling point for a couple of reasons:  Simple add-on which makes it a easy DIY install.  Does not interfere with the factory wing that comes up and down at speed. The high quality carbon fiber can be left exposed if it fits your cars color or you can paint it leaving only the edge exposed as we did on our BMW M3 with Vorsteiner.  The upgraded rear bumper with massive carbon fiber diffuser and side skirts will be coming next.  This first install will give a good insight to those that just want a little more style without going all the way.

Next up is the KW DLC Lowering Module.  This module plugs inline of the factory system to allow you to control the cars ride height via an iPhone app.  It can be manually set with switches on the DLC box or adjusted via wifi on the go.  What is even more amazing is that it keeps all the factory suspension functionality, including the PASM.  KW designed this product to be a great alternative to standard lowering modules allowing the driver to really choose how the ride height should be set according to their needs.  Sometimes you really need stock height and maybe sometimes you go to shows and want it super tucked.  We did some incredible video of the DLC install and function, so stay tuned for that.

Finally, we hooked up the car with some more sound using the Meisterschaft GTC muffler exhaust system.  Meisterschaft has appeared on many of our customers cars over the years and is very well known in the BMW market.  For the Porsche Panamera, it replaces the axle back system and features a remote key fob to change the tone of the exhaust.  Much like the factory PSE but it is much more pronounced.  The mufflers not only save a ton of weight, but the larger tips with Meisterschafts trademark splitter inside is very noticeable.

So here are some sneaks of these mods and stay tuned for some serious video which we will launch on our YouTube Channel Here!
