So Whats Involved with Installing Fender Flares?

The latest trend for the past 2 years has been all focused on widebody kits and fender flares.  We dabbled in this fun with our Project Focus ST flare kit as well.  Most likely you are tuned into the trends and have seen the Liberty Walk take over with cars like Ferrari, BMW, Lamborghini, Porsche, and even now the Maserati.  Another Japanese company called Fairy Design, has their own take on the fender flare movement with the Mercedes CLA sedan.  Those cars look pretty rad all hunched down with the mega flares, but what is involved in installing them.

If you want to go wide, the first thing you are going to need to do is get wider wheels and tires.  The obvious reason you can go from a 19×8.5 to say a 19×10.5 is that they would rub like a mofo!  So what is hidden under these flares?  Cutting, cutting, cutting.  Just as we did on our Project Focus ST, you have to cut the body.  Not a lot, but enough where there is no turning back.  When done right, these kits give an entire new look and styling to what is generally a slim lined car.  Check out these pictures of the Fairy Design Mercedes CLA 250 or CLA 45 Kit installation to understand what is involved.

Acura NSX Clean Lines with Seibon and Downforce Carbon

The Acura NSX is one of the timeless sports cars ever.  The high revving, mid engine machine really could be put in the supercar class especially with its $100,000 price tag.  Add some boost to these and they were simply rear wheel drive rockets.  The NSX is harder and harder to find in very clean condition.  However the cult following of the NSX will never die and as the new 2016 Acura NSX comes to fruition, the older model is still highly desired.  This customer of Team Member Ahmed, geared his silver body NSX with some clean Seibon and Downforce parts.  The car features Seibon’s carbon fiber front lip and rear valance that have been painted to match.  To wrap the body in a full aero trim, the car has also been equipped with Downforce “Stacy” side skirts.  The most important part of this upgrade…  the 5 star review the customer gave us!  Check out the pics below.

Hear the New Remus Volkswagen GTI MK7 Exhaust

Remus has been known as one of the best exhaust manufactures for Volkswagen and Audi tuner cars.  They have also made a name for themselves in Porsche exhausts and even BMW exhaust systems.  Made in Austria, their OEM look systems provide an easy to the ear sound with power to back it up.  No gimmics, just good ole engineering.  For the MK7 Volkswagen GTI, Milltek sells a different rear valance so you can have the dual outlet system similar to that of the earlier MK5 and MK6.  Like most of their exhaust systems, you can have it your way with the exhaust tips.  Full stainless steel, carbon fiber, titanium, and chrome.  As dyno tested, the exhaust made a peak horsepower gain of 8.6hp and just over 10nm of torque.  However the exhaust made tremendous horsepower and torque from 3500rpm to 4500rpm.  It produced over 40nm of torque and almost 30 horsepower at this point.  Check out the pics and video below.  You like what you see?  Shop all Remus Exhausts Here.

Hold On Tight - These Vorsteiner Huracan Novara Photos are Nuts!

Well if you are a Nissan GT-R fan, than this will be like car porn to you.  We have all dreamed of owning a R34 Skyline.  I remember back in the JDM show days seeing the Blitz Nurburgring edition brought over to show off at Motorex and the Nisei Week car shows.  The R34 has had its interesting moments here in the states from people importing them as kit cars (illegal still) and government seizures, people going to jail, and more.  A loop hole opened up and Canada started to get R32 and R33 cars which made its way state side.  But with the Nissan GT-R R35, that filled the void for most.

How to Destroy a Koenigsegg Agera in 5 Seconds

If you have the money to spend a couple million on a supercar, know your limits or at least take some race driving courses.  I have had the chance to drive a lot of vehicles on the track and know my limits.  That does not mean I am Michael Schumacher, but for f&cks sake if you are going to total a car, make it a Ford Escort!  This video is pretty fun showing this guy eliminate this Koenigsegg Agera R on a highway in what seems like China.  Have fun!
