Is this the Solution to Backseat Shenanigans?

Having kids and a nice car is usually a disaster in the making. We’ve added some larger project cars in the past to cater to those who want a bad ass daily, but also need to play super-parent every now-and-again. As your kids get bigger, so do the fights in the backseat. We came across this man’s solution to the problem of backseat shenanigans, on Yahoo Auto. We want to know what you think? Is this the best or worst idea?

The Breakdown

This car is a normal looking,  2008 Nissan Patrol. From the outside, it’s business as usual. Then when you open the front door, there’s something missing and without the caption, you’re not quite sure what it is. Then you realize. There is a flat screen in place of the steering wheel. From there, the camera guy reveals that the Kings of Custom, in Dubai, have moved all the front seat controls to the backseat. This, in his words, allows the parent/ driver to keep the shenanigans to a minimum. However, my first thought was; yes the shenanigans are down, but you also can’t see the front of your car. If this thing was lowered, you’d be hitting curbs, corners and God knows what else, due to the lack of vision. We can appreciate the mods and the idea of fixing a ever prevailing problem, but I think there are still some bugs to work out with this mommy-mobile.

We’ll let you be the judge! Is this the best or worst idea? Do you think the idea could work? Do you have a better solution? We want to know! Leave your thoughts in the comment section below or on Facebook or Twitter.

Let the Day Dreaming Begin - Lamborghini Aventador LP700

This is one of our customer’s in India. Racetech is a combination of people with experience in the high end performance world. With that, it’s not surprising that they bring us this stunning Lamborghini Aventador. We’ve been fortunate enough to work on one of these beasts ourselves. There are few things in life that are as awesome as upgrading a car like this. To take something that’s already so impressive and giving it that extra edge, that’s why we do, what we do. It’s like giving Kate Upton Beyonce’s voice and Venus William’s athleticism, it’s just not fair to the rest of us.

So what do you give the car that has everything? You give it an exhaust that doesn’t compromise the sound. You give it the lunges it was meant to have. That’s exactly what  Racetech did, they add a Capristo exhaust to this already flawless being and voila, it’s even more mind blowing. If you’re not familiar with Capristo, here’s what you need to know,

Capristo is the pioneer and leader in designing and manufacturing high performance exhaust technologies, Capristo Exhausts are renowned worldwide for their quality, design and enhanced sound.”

The aesthetic upgrade that Racetech thought would take this car even more over the top is a carbon wing from DMC. DMC excels in manufacturing the highest quality carbon fiber components for an exclusive line of high performance automobiles, like the Aventador. Enough talk, here’s the pictures you’ve been waiting for.

Tell us what you think of the upgrades. If you had the money and the car would you have gone the same  route? Let us know in the comment section below or on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Shout out to TRK’s Photography capturing the beast in it’s nature habitat.

Ferrari 360 Spyder Sporting New Niche Monoblock Wheels

The lineage of the Ferrari sports cars goes very deep with a similarity and ideology maintained throughout.  Though it is no F40, F50, or Enzo, the 360 Modena and Spyder were a huge step up from the 355.  Having owned a 360 Modena here at Vivid Racing, we are extremely knowledgeable in the performance, aesthetics, and handling of these mid engine sports cars.  Like our own Project Ferrari 360, this customers Spyder is yellow and it needed some new sex appeal.  We dressed up the car with a set of Niche Misano 1 piece forged monoblock wheels.  Niche Wheels made by MHT Wheels, manufacture some of the industries leading wheel companies products.  We chose to promote the Niche brand because of the fast production time, great customer service, and great pricing.

These wheels finished in a gloss black allow for the factory Ferrari center caps to be used.  The front wheels are a 19×8.5 and the rear wheels are a 20×11.  We then wrapped the wheels with a set of Nitto Invo tires in a 235/35/19 and a 305/25/20.  Not a bad little package for under $6000!

The Next-Level Racing Seat - Blue Carbon Backed Status Racing Seat

If you’re looking to take your interior to the next level, a set of Status Racing Seats will get you there. Yesterday Status Racing released their latest color carbon backed racing seats. You can now get your Status Icon seat with Blue color carbon! Along with the other options of standard carbon fiber, honeycomb carbon and Red carbon, you can basically customize your seat to fit any car or style.

If you saw the Red carbon when it got released the initial pictures of the backing looking bright and vibrant, when they later released pictures the color without the light, had an almost burgundy look to it. The color of the seat reacts to the light on it. The blue carbon seats are similar. You will see in the pictures below that the initial look at the backing in the sun look like a stellar blue color. Then you see them fully manufactured, and the blue looks like a navy blue. Either way, these things look mean! For the first set of blue carbon backed seats they went with the black ultra suede, blue diamond stitching and finished it off, with a filled-in blue Status logo. Check out the pictures below. Let us know what you think of the latest custom, colored carbon backed, racing seat from Status Racing. You can tell us in the comment section below or on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

If you’re looking for a set of racing seats, but the icon version seems a little out of your league. You can get a standard, FIA approved, Ring seat with cloth and FRP backing for $679.00. If you’re looking for the one-of-a-kind seat, but not sure what it would look like? Status Racing pioneered the Icon Racing Seat Configurator that allows you to see the seat before you buy. Configure  your seat today! If you already have seats and are looking for harnesses, they have those too. Check them out here.

Thought we would give a little forecast on the Focus ST Project Car storm that is about to hit hard!  The Agency Power fab boys have been working hard to wrap up the carbon fiber fenders, rear diffuser, front lip, and front grill.  While everything is coming together, we threw on our Niche 3 piece 19 inch Circuit wheels to check out.  The 19×10 +15mm 5×108 wheels feature a custom chrome blue finish with black inner and outer barrels.  We wrapped them in 265/35/19 Falken Tires as well.  Along with these and our SSR / Toyo wheel package in 18 inch, we have some stuntin to do!  In addition to the soon to be shown aero parts, we got our new suspension pieces and motor mount back from anodizing finished in a bright dip red.  This includes the rear toe and camber arms which are both adjustable as well as the lower motor mount.  Also pictured below is a sneak peak of our lighweight crank pulley kit for the Focus.  All of these including the carbon fiber aero parts will be available REALLY SOON on our Ford Focus ST performance parts page soon.  Enjoy the teaser!
