Get Down and Dirty, but still Come out Clean

When Accuair set out to make their new Sport Air Suspension system for the Audi B8 S4, they had every customer in mind. They know that most car enthusiasts like to make their daily, look show ready at any given moment. They also factored in that most drivers like to make their mundane drive to work more interesting with sharper corners, and less wory about driveway clearance. That’s why they built this new air suspension system with a no compromise mentality.  They wanted to make sure that the driver wasn’t restricted at all. With that, they give your car the freedom to go anywhere and do anything.

This is AccuAir’s first make/ model specific product. Most AccuAir products are made to enhance a variety of makes and models, not focus on any one make or model, in specific. Because they wanted results specifically for the Audi S4, they decided to go to an objective test facility and get some opinions on the new system. They took it to the Motortrend test facility in Fontana, CA, and this is what Alex Bernstein of European Car Magazine, had to say about the system,

“Once in the canyons, we were able to gain speed, tipping into triple digits on occasions, experiencing everything from long sweepers to tight twisties. and yet the AccuAir system remained flawless. Road imperfections were absorbed without any disturbance, and the limit of adhesion was extremely hard to find. It’s clear that AccuAir’s intention of redefining air suspension has been an overwhelming success. The company has created a system unlike anything else currently on the market, and unlike anything that we, as enthusiasts have previously experienced. For the price, convenience, looks and dynamics, the AccuAir Sport air suspension was the clear winner in our test.”

Ford Focus ST WIDE Stance Photoshoot

We have been working on this Ford Focus ST project car since January.  From day 1, we wanted to create something with an aggressive stance, improved styling, and some giddy-up power.  After blowing off all the dust from its long stint as a R&D mule in the shop, we gave her a bath and shine to take some initial photos of the Ford Focus ST.  Now first we have to say that we have kept the carbon parts raw so people can see that they are “made from carbon”.  The add on fender flares we built to accomondate our 19×10 +15mm Niche wheels with 265/35/19 Falken tires and our soon to be shot, Work Wheels Meister 18×10 +15mm wheels with Toyo 265/35/18 tires.  Even with the KW coilover suspension, the Focus ST needed “more low” to get that tucked look.  So we modified the rear springs and to avoid any rubbing (which there would have been), we trimmed the rear fender arches.  The front was able to be lowered with no issues and we did not need to trim the wheel wells.

The rear features are carbon fiber strake diffuser and undertray.  This rear component starts from the rear suspension arms and covers the entire bottom to where the fins fit on the back of the bumper lip.  Because of how this product is made and not integrated into the lip, we would consider this a race part.  The undertray with bracket supports fit nicely on the bottom of the car keeping airflow laminar and protecting that new exhaust system.

Up front we have a complete replacement front grill.  The factory honeycomb style front grill is actually non pourus in several spots blocking much needed airflow to the cars radiator and intercooler.  The factory grill pops out from the back of the bumper when removed revealing an entire opening as a canvas.  Instead of a steel mesh type insert like Grill Craft or other grill companies, we chose to make a front fit grill that gives the Focus ST a Steven Tyler mouth!  The full carbon fiber grill features an outside beveled edge that can be siliconed or 3m taped in place using its molded edges.  The grill is divided into 2 sections to still keep the front bumper beam hidden.  The top features 3 rows of quarter size holes with a black mesh backing where the bottom has 4 rectangle openings to give more airflow to the Focus powerplant.  In addition to the grill, we have created a small addon center lip to keep the front more rounded.  This piece slides into place and uses the factory push clips to secure it on.

Currently we are working on a rear waist spoiler and front bumper side splitters to complement the rest of the aero accessories.  We do have a couple other of these first article items available for cars to spread the love.  If interested, contact dan at vividracing.com and send a photo of your Focus ST in.  So right now the big question is, the wheels…

Give Your GT-R the Medusa Effect

GT-R’s are becoming more and more common in the tuner world. The desire to modify and be set apart from one another, has never been stronger. Between carbon upgrades and aero kits, the next best aesthetic upgrade is a wicked set of wheels and tires. In my opinion, the GT-R is the hulk of the tuner industry. It’s like dating a girl who fights UFC. She’s pretty to look at, but she can still kick your ass! That’s why when looking for a set of wheels, you want something that will have the Medusa effect on people. They can’t help but look at your wheels, but once their eyes lock, they can’t stop!

That is the exact mentality of this GT-R owner. He decided a set of deadly Advan GT’s, would do the trick. The fitment is at an aggressive 20×10 and 20×12 wrapped with a sexy set of Toyo R888 tires. To make the look even more unique, he gave the calipers and lug nuts some matching color distinction to finish it off.

Here are some pictures he sent us. Let us know what you think of the setup on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. If you’re looking for to be more noticeable, email us at sales@vividracing.com and we can set you up!
