New Legato Body Kit for Genesis SFX by ARK

Legato is a musical term meaning, “seamless integration between notes.” This body kit from ARK is just that, a seamless marriage between the already pleasing lines of the Genesis Coupe and the body extensions. The Legato was a concept featured at the Hyundai booth at SEMA. Because the Genesis at SEMA was just a concept there were still details to be worked out. Not only have they made the product more complete, but they have made it affordable as well.

Mike O’Brein VP of product planning at Hyundai Motor America said this about the Legato Body Kit,

“The ARK Legato Concept demonstrates the compelling appeal and versatility of the original Genesis Coupe production.”

Now this piece of architectural genius can be yours. The kit is available in a 16 piece body kit for wide and non-wide body applications. The kit comes prepped to be primed and painted. Front and Rear bumpers will work with stock body without wide fenders. Minimal custom work needed. Each of the piece can be sold separately, but why break up a good thing?

If you follow us on Instagram (#vividracing) then you might have seen some of our Sunday antics at the shop.  This Sunday Funday video has us doing donuts in the back lot with this supercharged Fast and Furious BMW 5 series.  Rippin circles is always a good time in the back especially with some obstacles.  We also lite up the tires on our widebody Ford Focus ST while ramming through a box wall!  Enjoy the video and make sure to check out more on www.youtube.com/vividracing.

The Low Life in the Darkside Empire

This customer runs with a group called The Darkside Empire out of Tampa. At first glance you may not appreciate all the time and effort he’s put into his GTI. The real detail of this VW is under the hood. This custom engine bay rivals ones we’ve posted in the past. Every upgrade for this tuner has been methodical. He adds the part for performance, but takes the upgrade a step further , with the customization’s. He picked up his Suspension Techniques ST coilovers from us and after installing here’s what he had to say,

ST coilovers were a PERFECT fit! Install took 3 hours. Drops a conservative 1.6 inches with everything spun down which is perfect for daily driving. My rear tires are slightly tucked and I have less than a finger gap in the front. Only thing I had to do to minimize rubbing was the fender liner screw mod that is mentioned on numerous forums. You feel the road more and gain confidence. Extremely better turn in feel and the ride is not harsh at all maybe 25% stiffer than stock. Amazing product for the money I’d recommend these to anyone. They have the same internal valving as KW V1, so the quality is definitely there. Thanks VIVID!”

Just because you only use your ride as a daily driver, doesn’t mean your daily drive has to be boring. Take pride in what you drive and do what this customer did. Make your car a statement of what you represent… He’s not settling for ordinary, he’s reppin’ Darkside Empire with that custom swag. What are you doing?

So if you’ve been on the fence about what coilovers to get, or how to make your Golf, one-of-a-kind. Take some notes from this mod list. Or email one of our specialist (sales@vividracing.com) to turn your lame ride into a custom piece of art.

Niche Wheels 2 Piece Skittle Colored Mitsubishi EVO Wheels

Back in 2008 we put a set of 3 piece 19 inch wheels on our Project EVO X and that was so far out of the norm.  Fast forward almost 6 years later and wheels upon wheels upon wheels is crazier than ever.  Vivid Racing has a strong partnership with Niche Wheels having done both their forged monoblock and 3 piece wheels on our various cars.  Having already dropped a new 1 piece cast wheel that is uber cheap in price, they are now releasing a new 2 piece wheel which can be yours in any flavor you want!  Our very own Jacky drives this Mitsubishi EVO X.  With some already tasteful mods done, he was ready to get crazy with the wheels.  So he put this set of Niche Citroen 20×10.5 +22mm wheels on his EVO.  The centers are a brushed limelite (green) finish with a gloss black lip.  The wheels have been wrapped with Pirelli PZero 255/30/20 and even lowered on coilovers, no rubbing!

Check out the entire Niche Wheels Store and see what they look like on your car here!

Big 7.0L Corvette Engine Eats Up Our German Machine

Fresh from picking up our new Porsche 991 Turbo, we ran across this Z06 on the highway. Cruising at around 70mph we threw down. You can see the PDK is no match, but when that 7.0L engine of the Z06 kicks in, it was gone. We did let off at around 120-130mph. We stopped up ahead and the owner told us he had a big cam, exhaust, intake, and ECU tune. Time to get modding!
