Out Perform on the Track with Better Grip

The ability for your clutch to engage on the track is crucial to good track times and overall performance. Our sales guy Sean (sean@vividracing.com ext. 226) sold a Clutch Masters FX350 Stage 3.5 Spring Clutch High Rev Pressure Plate to on of his Porsche customers, who needed a reliable and responsive clutch for his track car. When a clutch is engaged engine power is no longer being transferred to the wheels. This allows a new gear to be selected before power is transferred again. This happens in racing situations far more than it does with typical driving. So if you spend any time on the track, and upgraded clutch is essential to the longevity and performance of your vehicle. Here’s what he had to say about the performance of the clutch.

I finally got 500 miles on the car. It was a little tough for a dedicated track car. I drove it back and forth to work. I like the clutch it takes a little practice to engage. I just did a track day at Infeneon Raceway, it was killer, no slippage at all.”

If you do ANY track time, even if you’re just starting, a clutch is an integral part of what your car needs perform at high levels. Shop Clutch Masters clutches HERE. Shop all clutches HERE. If you’re a serious weekend racer, check out our FIA approved Status Racing seats. We have two sizes of seats that are FIA approved, as well as FIA approved Harnesses. Yes People are Still Making 996 Turbo Performance Parts!

One of the most popular power upgrades for the Porsche 996 Turbo, X50, GT2 has been our high flow 3 inch Y-Pipe kit. Now this same kit that has been available for years is now available in full carbon fiber! The new Y-Pipe replaces the factory unit and 70% of the silicone boost hoses. Designed to work with the stock style intercoolers, we include new silicone adapters and cnc machined fittings. The new Y-Pipe reduces any possibility of pressure drop or blowing off a boost hose. As well, the Y-Pipe reduces the bend by about 45 degrees compared to stock for a straight shot to the intercooler. Because of the shape and design, airflow is improved which equals the improvement in power. Our end goal was simple, build a product that would retain the stock airbox, flow better, use OEM parts, and look the part!
Using our Mustang all wheel drive dyno, we tested the original part on a car with 91 octane and low boost set at 1.2bar. With fans moving fresh air to the intercoolers, we did a baseline on the car and achieved a starting point of 493whp and 477ft/lbs of torque. Leaving the car strapped to the dyno, we removed the stock Y-Pipe and bolted on the Agency Power upgraded carbon y-pipe. With everything secured in place, we fired up the car to give it a run with the new Y-Pipe. With absolutely NO changes to the cars configuration, the Y-Pipe added 21whp and 24ft/lbs of torque to the car. This was quite an impressive bolt on gain that also added style and potential scalable performance to the car.

This part fits all 2001-2005 Porsche 996 Turbo, X50, and GT2. All Agency Power products come with a LIMITED LIFETIME warranty.  View more info and pricing here

Porsche 996 Turbo Setup for Weekend DE Events on KW Variant 3

Thought we would share this beautiful white Porsche 996 Turbo that our customer has for weekend DE events and daily driving.  What is essential on any vehicle for better handling is a balanced suspension to give better steering response by equaling out over and under steer.  This is accomplished with a set of H&R front and rear adjustable sway bars.  In addition, to be able to have a coilover suspension to allow the car to be more responsive under harder driving.  Vivid Racing prefers KW Suspension and their Variant 3 coilover is one of the best out there.  Having used it on our own Porsche cars, the independent rebound and compression as well as ride height make this coilover the best bang for the buck.  What is the best feature of the KW V3 coilovers is that they ride beautiful on the street, but because of their patented bump stop material, it acts like a 3rd spring giving the shock supreme performance under aggressive driving.  Check out the pics and view more Porsche 996 Turbo Tuning Parts here.
