Big Brakes Starting at Under $1600 from KSport

Not everyone is looking to get brakes that cost as much as a car…  Big brake kits have a lot of function and style over factory cast ugly calipers.  KSport has taken over where other companies (cough ora cough) have left off.  Couple of functions of big brake kits is to provide lighter rotors.  2 piece rotors feature an aluminum hat and floating hardware that save weight, but also allow for better heat dissipation, and braking performance.  The rotor size is important as well.  A larger surface area means better braking.  But where the difference is, is in clamping force.  typically a 4piston rear and 6piston front kit will have you stopping like a Porsche.  However KSport has you going 1 step forward with their 8 piston and 12 piston big brake upgrades.  KSport includes a set of street sport brake pads and steel braided lines to give you a simple bolt on solution that transforms your ride in the performance and looks department.  Available in colors like Red, Silver, and Black, KSport also has these in their trademark Orange.  Check out all KSport Big Brake Kits here and view pictures below!

Renntech Powered 2004 Mercedes CL500 - Customer Ride

The big body coupe from Mercedes is one of the luxury rocket powered machines out there.  Having cruised in a CL65, they may be heavy, but these things will scare the sh&t out of you!  Our customer Jaime sent us these photos of his 2004 CL500 that he upgraded with us.  Jaime got the Renntech Lowering Module which allows you to lower the cars electronic suspension.  Unlike traditional shocks and springs, these executive rides have electronically controlled ride height.  But when you are putting some 3piece wheels on, you dont want wheel gap.  Jaime also added the Renntech PC Controller which allows you to control this via a PC or tablet.  Great ride and be sure to send your Vivid Racing ride images to us at marketing@vividracing.com!  View all our Mercedes Upgrade Parts here.

Vivid Racing Employee Cars: Spotlight Fit GE8 Sport

About a year ago we posted pictures of VR Sales Rep Sean McGill’s Honda Fit with an aggressive 18×8.5″ set of Rotiform BLQ wheels mounted, recently the Fit has gone a new direction for its final build.

Ditching the 18′s Sean opted to choose a more classic JDM style build with a lightweight set of 15×6.5 +35mm SSR Type-C wheels in their bronze finish, tires were addressed with Falken 205/50/15 to fit well within the previously rolled and pulled fenders while keeping full function without any rubbing issues. Getting the car closer to the pavement comes from help of Tanabe’s Pro S0-C coilovers, dispelling a popular belief that a firm or harsh ride is a sign of a performance suspension, the short stroke, shortened case dampener of the S-0C is unique in that its internal construction allows it to deliver superior handling without sacrificing strength or ride comfort.

With attention turned to the exterior and the limited availability of aero parts for the USDM GE8 Fit the mods were kept simple and clean. Mugen was chosen for the front lip to tighten the ground clearance bit more, Mugen-style vent-visors. For the bumper grill and hatch,  JDM Jazz badges took place of  the USDM Fit badges, and JDM RS badges were added to represent the monster of a 1.5 Liter L15A motor. All in all,  30+ MPG and simple add-ons its a clean daily driver with enough interior cabin space to fulfill your day to day needs.

Vivid Racing Employee Cars: Spotlight Evo 8

As you would imagine, interviews at Vivid Racing can quickly turn into an hour of car talk to be sure that we have the right candidate to service our customers with a level of expertise that our clients count on. When the story of  sales representative Arsha’s Evo came out we knew he would be the perfect fit.

Lucky enough to score his low mileage Evo in a wild GM Orange respray the Evo8 was destined for a big build and Arsha did not disappoint.  Keeping the stock bottom end, attention was given to the top end with ARP headstuds, Kelford‘s aggressive 272 camshafts pair with FP Beehive valve springs.  Up front the ETS Short route Intercooler piping and 3″ core helps to keep performance at its peak in our harsh desert environment. Power comes in with help of  FIC 1450CC injectors feeding  enviro-friendly E85, a Forced Performance FP Green HTA turbo and the indestructible Full-Race Prostock manifold, forcing boost through the Skunk2 throttle body into Buschur Racing’s ported intake manifold. Exhaust is removed with a custom 02 housing-back Agency Power exhaust system modified to fit with the JDM rear bumper.

All hands are on deck to keep a solid eye on the important functions of all this new power. Defi BF Series boost, oil pressure, and coolant temp gauges were added in a dash mounted pod. In addition to a AEM UEGO Wideband and Greddy Profec II Boost Controller to keep tabs on all the vitals.

Starting in the front exterior mods  include custom painted Evo 7 Headlights atop an Evo 8 Nose chopped front bumper to remove the Mistubishi emblem paired with a Do Luck Front lip. Out back  Evo 9 MR tail lights were added with the JDM Rear bumper and rarely seen Rexpeed Type-C trunk spoiler. Carbon fiber Ralliart mirrors Mitsubishi Rain Guards round out the mix in an all out refusal to leave anything OEM that didn’t fit the build. Up next,  Rota SVN-R 18×10 +20mm offset wheels are on all four corners with a 255/35/18 tire stretched over them to squeeze within flush to severely rolled and pulled fenders for fitment.  Camber and dampening is handled by Cusco Zero 2-RE W/ electronic dampening control and Agency Power Rear adjustable control arms.
