The DFI (Direct Fuel Injection) Porsche 997.2 Carrera was released for the 2009 and 2010 models as a facelift and engine change to the 997.1 Carrera from 05-08. Â The Carrera variant was still available in a 3.6L or 3.8L engine but now the new âautomaticâ versions was the start of the PDK transmission. Â Shifting incredibly fast, the PDK was leaps and bounds better than the Tiptronic. Â Producing 380 horsepower to the crank, the 997.2 Carrera S has more to give much like the earlier 997.1 Carrera. Â Doing an ECU flash is a great way to improve the 997.2 Carreraâs throttle response, low end torque, and mid range pull to redline. Â When we tune the 997.2, we alter things like the torque limiter, speed limiter, fueling, timing, and can make changes for high flow or catless exhausts. Â The ECU Flash done to the Siemens SDI3 ECU is very easy all via the OBDII port following our instructions at www.vrtuned.com/installation.
As this customer put it, âMy friends will be even more jealous. Â Hereâs a pic, quick, and easy!â Â You can order your Porsche 997 Carrera Flash Here.

Porsche 997.2 Turbo PDK ECU Upgrade
One of our overseas customers has this beautiful 2010 Porsche 997.2 Turbo PDK.  Having owned the Porsche 997.2 Turbo S, we are very experienced on how different products improve the performance of this vehicle.  Instead of 530bhp, the regular Turbo has 500bhp.  However when modded they can both achieve the same result in performance since the basic difference between the Turbo and Turbo S is mapping.  This customers car already had a flash on it so we helped improve the flash by dialing in the boost, fuel, timing to work better with his Akrapovic exhaust.  The result is a very happy customer!  He tells us, âThe ECU program is better a lot than the other one, especially in sport mode,it make me feel comfort but more faster reaction.â  Ready to get your Porsche 997 Turbo Tuned?  Go Here.

Porsche Cayman Boxster Tuning, Dyno, and Expectations – In Our Words
Having been around so many different cars, we really get the chance to learn how each vehicle reacts to different modifications. Â Since we began in the Porsche market back in 2006, we have probably worked with a 100+ Cayman and Boxster owners. Â The 987 is a great platform and responds well to mods. Â As a normally aspirated engine, basic bolt-ons such as exhaust, intake, plenum, and ECU flash are really the basics. Â Forced induction kits are available, however for the reliability and driveability, the opinion is still up in the air. Â We know this first hand from doing a Turbo Porsche Cayman here. So when it comes to the ECU flash on the Cayman or other NA engines, what should … Continue reading →
