VR Tuned ECU Flashing is used worldwide because of the convenience to read and write your performance tuning via the OBDII port as seen here.  One of the most popular ECU flashes is for the Porsche 997.1 Turbo.  This customer in Norway wanted to take full control of his Porsche’s potential so he added a VR Tuned ECU tune.  The 997 Turbo comes stock with 480 horsepower to the crank.  When flashed, it jumps to a very powerful 615 horsepower!  How come this is not like this from the factory?  Porsche has to meet certain regulations for fuel economy, performance, and also have a car built for the everyday driver.  Doing a performance ECU tune does not harm the 3.6L engine at all.  In fact these engines are plenty strong to 800 horsepower!  Tuning the 997TT has changes done to the vehicles maps that retain the sport mode while giving a blast of extra boost.  Reaching your cars full potential is usually done with a high flow exhaust, air filter, and 93 octane gas.  The more the air can flow free without restriction, the happier the Turbo is.  See our power proven dyno sheet and customer review video on the Porsche 997 Turbo Flash Product Here.

The Scion FRS is one of our more popular ECU flashes as it really changes how the FA20 2.0L engine drives.  The stock car is missing a lot of performance down low and even has a torque dip around 3200rpm.  The VR Tuned ECU Flash for the FRS or BRZ really brings the FA20 to life.  Improving throttle response, smoothing out the torque dip, giving the car harder pull to redline are just some of the characteristics.  With our ECU Flash we can also changes for cars with high flow or catless race pipes.  We can increase the rev limiter and tune for different octanes.  This is one of the cars we did here at our Gilbert, Arizona location.  Check out the pics and to order your VR Tuned for the Scion FRS, go here!

Porsche 991, 981, Panamera, Cayenne OBDII Tuning Released

We are super excited to now be able to offer OBDII ECU flashing for all new Porsche models featuring the SDI6, SDI7, SDI8, SDI9 ECU’s!  These can be found in cars like the Porsche 981 Cayman, Boxster, and GT4, Porsche 991 Carrera and Carrera S, Porsche 991 Turbo and Turbo S.  Also no more removing your ECU for the new Porsche Panamera and Cayenne vehicles.  All Panamera V6, S V8, and Turbo from 10-15 can now be done via OBDII along with their matching Cayenne models!  With the OBDII flash we can raise the rev limiter, do decat files for race exhausts, increase throttle sensitivity, change torque limiters, lift vmax if applicable, and of course, tune for more horsepower and torque.  Files are custom written per read out to factor in octane used, elevation, modifications.  We can also do custom tunes for turbo upgrades on the Turbo vehicles.

Right now this is not an end user cable so requires the car to come to us in Gilbert, Arizona or us go to the car!  We expect to have end user cables to be able to perform this process worldwide within 60-90 days as seen here  – www.vrtuned.com/installation.

The BMW M4 F82 platform is one of the best BMW has come up with in years.  The 6 cylinder twin turbo engine packs a nice punch at 425 horsepower and 410 ft/lbs of torque.  The VR Tuned plug and play tuning box kit is an excellent way to gain huge amounts of power without worrying about your much needed factory warranty.  The multi channel micro processor box taps into the BMW powerplants cam shift sensor, manifold pressure sensor, and boost pressure sensor to deliver a massive gain of 80hp and 130nm of torque on 93+ octane.  This awesome car was done here at our Gilbert, Arizona location as this box installs in about 10 minutes.  Check out the photos and read more on the VR Tuned Tuning Box Kit for the BMW F8X M3 M4 here.

VRTuned BMW M6 V10 Dyno Video

Our customer in Bahrain got his BMW M6 V10 5.0L engine roaring with a new VR Tuned ECU Flash.  Having owned a V10 M5, these cars can be dogs down low and respond slow to throttle.  The VR Tuned flash is all done via OBDII and really wakes these cars up.  Changing the torque limiters, top speed, o2 sensor readings, as well as fuel and timing maps, the new tune gives the E63 M6 new life.  This car was tested on a rear wheel drive dyno jet where it baselined at 486.20 hp.  After the tune, its max gain took the car to 504.14 hp with torque going from 362.96 to 374.67.  On a chart these gains are good for the V10, but the difference in overall driveability is more noticed in driving conditions.  Check out the dyno sheet, image, and video below.  Order your VR Tuned BMW M6 Tuning Here.

Mercedes CLA250 Tuning Box Kit Installed with HG Intake

Our customer William just got done installing his VR Tuned ECU Tuning Box Kit for the Mercedes CLA 250 2.0L turbo and he is stoked on the performance increase!  The Tuning Box plug and play functionality gives the CLA 250 almost 50 horsepower gain over stock while still improving driveability and is warranty safe.  Plugging into the cars manifold, boost, and camshaft sensors, the Tuning Box micro processor takes over controlling the signals and giving the performance the CLA 250 craves for.  In addition the tuning box, this car also has a HG Motorsports cold air intake which really helps the turbocharger breathe.  Check out the pics and order your VR Tuned Tuning Box for the CLA250 Here.

Porsche Macan S Shows Off 60-130mph and Launch Control

The Porsche Macan S tuning box has been one of the best things to come for the 3.0L Turbo mini SUV.  Very sporty to race around town, the power it can achieve from a little boost is pretty impressive.  Our Tuning Box kit plugs into the cars boost, manifold, and camshaft sensors as well as a power and ground terminal to deliver 60 horsepower and over 100 nm of torque.  The Tuning Box kit features a dial on the back to change the setting based on your pump octane and from there is really no maintenance.  If need be, the tuning box can be easily unplugged and removed for warranty purposes.  Our customer Chuck, part of the Macan Forums, recently installed his and did a couple videos for us.

Mercedes C63 S AMG 4.0L Gets Boosted with VR Tuned Tuning Box

The Mercedes C63 S AMG packs a punch of 503bhp with it’s 4.0L V8 twin turbocharged engine.  This is a ton of horsepower for the sedan and it can only go up!  For the Mercedes C63 S you can either do a ECU Flash or a tuning box.  The ECU Flash requires the ECU to be removed and opened which may scare some away as they just bought a $90,000 vehicle.  Even though ECU Tuning is very safe, the Tuning Box is a great option.  Its plug and play design connects to the cars boost, manifold, and camshaft sensors to give it a huge increase in torque and horsepower providing an incredible feeling.  The Tuning Box kit can be easily removed if need be for warranty purposes.  The dial on the back of the box can be set based on octane fuel ran.  We typically recommend the setting to be on 4 for 91 or 93 octane fuel.  With a gain of 90 horsepower and 120 nm of torque, you would be silly to NOT get this upgrade!  Check out the VR Tuned Mercedes C63 S Tuning Box Here.

Volkswagen Golf R MK6 Tuning Box Delivers Big Gains

The Volkswagen Golf R MK6 has a very strong 2.0L turbocharged engine that puts out 270 bhp to its all wheel drive system.  This engine and turbocharger has a lot more to give and that is exactly what the VR Tuned Tuning Box Kit does.  The plug and play box taps into the throttle position sensor and the boost sensor to give the car 66 bhp more on 93 octane.  To prove the performance of this kit, we tested a car here on our Mustang All Wheel Drive Dyno.  Arizona gas is only 91 octane so we did expect close results just under the rating.  Typical drive train loss is around 20-25% as we test on our dynamometer.  Our baseline run on the 6speed manual car yielded 192 horsepower and 198 ft/lbs of torque.  Once we plugged in the very easy install tuning box, the car shot up to 235 horsepower and 238 ft/lbs of torque.  This is a very strong 40 horsepower gain which can definitely be felt in the 0-60 mph as well as mid to top end range.  Based on our drivetrain loss, this gives us almost 320 bhp from 270 bhp which is a nice increase.  Check out the dyno sheet, pictures, video below.  You can also view the installation instructions here.
