Introducing Vortech Maxflow Intercooler Upgrade Package for EcoBoost F-150

Although there are a ton of EcoBoost F150 owners out there who love their truck, that doesn’t mean they don’t want to modify their truck. When air is compressed it heats up. If air becomes hot enough, it can ignite an air/fuel mixture without a spark. This is known as detonation or pre-ignition, and it’s not something you want happening inside your engine. Unfortunately, it is an inherent problem with turbocharged engines, especially ones that run high boost levels like the 3.5L EcoBoost. The intercooler’s job is to cool down hot compressed air before it enters the engine. Although the stock intercooler does a decent job, an aftermarket intercooler could do an even better job. You can read more about how an aftermarket intercooler will help your engine in our Intercooler Guide article.

Although Vortech is best known for their superchargers, they cover all segments of the forced induction aftermarket. They’ve just released their Maxflow Intercooler for the 3.5L EcoBoost F-150 and now it’s available through Vivid Racing. This intercooler has a 75% increase in frontal area with a 200% increase in overall core volume. The result is lower and more consistent charge air temperatures, ultimately leading to a 26% peak power gain with 18% over gains at the wheels. This power gain, of course, depends on if you purchase the intercooler with the tuner or not.

With or without the tuner, your truck will be much happier with lower and more consistent charge air temperatures. If you have any questions or would like to purchase a Vortech Maxflow Intercooler for 3.5L EcoBoost F-150, please do not hesitate to contact us. Ford F-150 Truck Big Brake Kits by Brembo

If you have not been in a Ford lately, you really should.  Its not the old Aerostar you had as a kid growing up.  The features, comforts, and more are at German levels.  I honestly still feel this way after owning our Project Ford Focus ST.  With the popularity of the Ford Raptor, the unmodified version, F-150, is the top selling vehicle in the world.  Used in so many capacities, some owners convert them into being beastly monsters or show vehicles.  The leader in brake technology, Brembo, has stepped up and released brakes for the new 2015+ Ford F150 2WD truck.  The massive front brakes feature a 6 piston caliper and 380×24 2 piece floating rotor.  That is a 15″ disc!  The rear also has a 380×28 rotor and features Brembo’s forged 4 piston caliper.  All Brembo Brakes are available in standard Black, Red, Silver, Yellow, with Drilled or slotted rotors.  If you want that special custom caliper color, just hit up Vivid Racing for that treatment.  We have attached the measurements here so you can check your wheels for clearance.  Shop all Brembo Big Brake Kits Here.

New AEM Performance Ford Coyote Engine Harness Adapter For Standalone Released!

AEM Performance Electronics has released a “Controls Pack” style harness adapter (PN 30-3813) for Ford Coyote 5.0L race engines. The 30-3813 Coyote wiring harness connects to the Coyote’s factory engine wiring harness for quick and easy installation of an Infinity-8 standalone programmable EFI unit (PN 30-7101) onto a Coyote race engine.

REQUIRED ITEMS

Two Bosch 4.2LSU sensors are required for Lambda feedback control (PN 30-2001). A MAP sensor (PN 30-2130-50 3.5BAR) and air inlet temp (AIT) sensor (PN 30-2010 3/8″ NPT) are required for conversion to speed density. MAF is not supported. AEM offers higher pressure MAP sensors for high boost applications.

AEM recommends the purchase of its Infinity Auxiliary Sub Harness (PN 30-3510-00) for easy installation of the MAP and AIT. This sub harness connects to the DTM-style 12-pin connector for adding common aftermarket sensors including fuel pressure, oil pressure, boost control solenoid and ethanol content. The expansion port also includes a sensor ground, 5v reference, power from relay and high side output for activating a solenoid, and switched inputs for auxiliary radiator fan, boost target and no-lift shift.

The 30-3813 Coyote wiring harness includes a connector to enable control of the Ford Racing Boss 302 Alternator Kit (Ford PN M-8600-M50BALT). Users who do not have this alternator may need to purchase it for proper connection.

The Drive-by Wire pedal assembly is not included with the 30-3813 Coyote wiring harness. For Drive-by-Wire integration the Ford pedal assembly (Ford PN BR3Z-95836-D) is required.
