Mini Cooper S R56 ECU Flash to Boost 1.6L Turbo

The 1.6L turbocharged engine from Mini is featured in many of it’s platforms.  The Cooper S, Countryman S, Clubman S, and others have this 175 horsepower engine in the FWD or AWD variants.  If you are lucky to have the JCW edition, factory you get 211PS at the crank.  With turbochargers comes the opportunity for more horsepower and that is exactly what the VR Tuned ECU Flash does and did for this Mini Cooper S R56 Vert.  Up to 2009/2010 models can be flashed via the OBDII port, but the certain variants of the newer R56 from 2011 to 2014 MED17.2 ECU must be bench flashed.  Mini makes it very convenient to get to the ECU unlike other BMW models such as the new F Series where its hidden under the intake manifold.  Once the Mini’s Bosch ECU is removed, it is fairly simply to flash in boot mode.  Adjusting the vehicles boost, fuel, and timing allows us to take the car to 208 horsepower gaining 30 horsepower over stock.  Having owned a 1.6L Countryman S JCW with the VR Tuned flash, this dramatically improves the cars performance.  Most noteably the torque and midrange are increased making the Mini a new handful to drive.  Check out our customers Blacked Out Mini Cooper S being flashed and find your VR Tuned Mini Cooper ECU Flash Here.
