Change Your Wheels...Change Your Life

Okay, so the title might be a little dramatic. However, a new set of wheels is sure to add some swag to your A-game. If you’re a wheel whore like us, you change your wheels like girls change their hair color. If you are looking for the most wheels brands for the best prices, then you’re in the right spot. Not only do we have the BEST wheels in the industry but we have a sales team with years of experience of outfitting cars with the perfect set of wheels. Some people have a vision, others just know they want something new and eye popping. Either way, we can help.

This Evo X owner worked with our sales guy Josh (josh@vividracing.com ext. 230) to find this stellar set of Work Brombacher Step Lip Wheels. These wheels alone draw attention. Put them in a show room with 10 other wheels and these are sure to stand out. Now imagine what that does for your car! He chose to make his wheels flush with a fitment of 19 x 10 +4 offset in the front and 19×10 -4 in the back. He’s stoked with the result and we’re pumped to have another satisfied customer.

If you’re looking for your first, next or perfect set of wheels check out some of our favorite wheels here. See more setups in our gallery.

Customer"s Porsche 997 GT3 MKII Crashes at 160mph

We got this email from one of our customer’s in France who is an avid race car driver. His email was thanking us for the parts we had sold him, not because they look great on his car (although they do). But because those parts helped save his life. Here’s the email he sent us,

“Hello,

I’m completely a fan of your page. I live in France and bought a carbon intake from you for my 997 gt3 mkII. Unfortunately  this, (the video below,) is what happened on the Catalunya F1 track last week. There was oil on the track, and I crashed my GT3 at more than 160 MPH. I’m safe, thanks to the car and the walls of the track (shock absorption). I want to show your fans my video, because that shows that a car prepared (roll bar, harness, buckets) can save lives. I will invest in a Hans system.”

The Hans System is a invaluable product to any real racer. The HANS device (Head and Neck Support) was developed to prevent neck injuries and skull fractures by restraining your head from snapping forward in the event of an accident. The HANS device is a semi-hard collar made of carbon fiber and Kevlar. It is held onto the upper body by a harness worn by the driver. Two flexible tethers on the collar are attached to the helmet to prevent the head from snapping forward or to the side during a wreck.

If you watch the video you can see during the crash where a HANS device would have come in handy. With all that said, we are happy that he was able to walk away from the wreck without any serious injuries. This isn’t a PSA on safety but it’s important to equip your car and yourself when doing any kind of racing. If you’re interested in learning more about making your race car safe email us at sales@vividracing.com.

Racing’s only fun if you’re alive to enjoy it, race smart!

Custom Red Recaro and Work Wheels on a Modded M3

We introduced you to this opulent M3 a few weeks ago when he was first showing off the new Vorsteiner Body Kit  and custom, sultry Red Recaro Seats. We knew those upgrades were just the first step to this M3′s mod process. When we wrote the other blog he had already ordered his next addition. What’s the perfect enhancement beyond a sexy interior and a brand new body kit? A new set of wheels to match. That’s exactly what this M3 owner did. He worked with our sales guy Ahmed again (ahemed@vividracing.com ext. 231) to find the perfect set of wheels to compliment his already stunning project car.

He chose to go with a set of three piece Work Meister S1′s that were set at 19 x 11 and 19 x 9.5. The fitment difference helps accentuate the contouring of the body kit. The elegant and aggressive combination of the black face with stainless bolts and polished lips is the perfect tribute to the stealth look of the exterior. See more of our customer built cars here.

Porsche Macan Spied Testing at the Grand Canyon

It looks like the all new Porsche Macan is going to be released really soon at the LA Auto Show in late November 2013.  Taking a day trip up to the Grand Canyon yesterday, we came across this pack of test mules in formation with their support vehicles (Audi Q7 and Q5) as leader and follower.  They were approximately 2 cars ahead of us and then turned left into the Grand Canyon airport where I was not able to make the turn in time.  Circling back, we found them but they were already covered up.  After cruising around the Grand Canyon, we were leaving the park and they were coming in.  I was able to grab my phone and grab 1 shot of the live beast.  They were all black with exposed headlights and taillights.  Always cool to see test cars out and about.

Several years ago on a drive to Payson, Arizona, we spotted 4 all black Panamera’s testing in the hot desert climate.  Way before that in 2006 on our way up to Salt Lake City for the 2006 Gumball 3000, we came across 2 Porsche 997 GT3 testing in Flagstaff.  Anyways, here are some snaps I was able to grab from the Panamera Turbo I was driving!

Ballin NSX with Sexy Advan"s

This is one of our sales guy Ahmed’s (ahmed@vividracing.com ext. 231) customer. This NSX thing is show or track ready. The NSX on it’s own get head whipping attention, but when you add a sick set of Advan’s on it, it’s a wrap. There’s no head that won’t turn when this thing goes by. We can’t say it enough. If you’re strapped for money or just getting into the tuning scene and you want to make a noticeable difference in your car, but not break that bank, a set of wheels is the solution. We have a gang of great brands and sales people who can help you find the perfect setup for your ride.

If you’re looking to throw down some dough, go with Niche or HRE’s if you’re looking for something that looks like HRE’s and Niches, but you don’t have to sell your first born child for, go with Volk, ADV.1 or Avant Garde. If you’re set on brand names HRE just released their first line of flowform wheels that are just a reliable, stylish and durable but they are made with a more cost effective process,. You can rock HRE’s, a new set of DC’s, AND still have enough to take your chick out.

Don’t let your car look normal, make it stand out with a new set of wheels!

Perfect Addition for Your C63

Mode Carbon does more than make carbon fiber aero pieces. They create a story with their products. The part is function, stylistic but then when they do a shoot like this, the part almost takes a life of it’s own. The color of the C63 featured in this shoot is the first thing that caught our eye. The color of the car then the aggressive fitment and color choice of the wheels makes the carbon fiber wing stick out that much more. The transition from the carbon wing to the wing on the plane, is genius.

We’ve seen Mode Carbon do work on another flat gray C63. That thing was BAD. If you have a C63 you need one of these. Okay we’re done talking. Be careful not to drool on the keyboard…Too much. After you’re done drool buy your own HERE!
