Porsche 991 Turbo S Power Package of Amazing

We have been on a recent rampage of Porsche 991 Turbo projects and this Porsche 991 Turbo S Cab is no different.  This customer fell in love with our Project 991 Turbo that we did and wanted the same look and performance.  Being his 2nd Porsche 991 Turbo with his first as a coupe, the cab with sexy red interior is going to turn out pretty awesome.  The first round of mods is all about performance here.  With a quick installation of the H&R Springs to give the car a nice stance once done, the rest will soon be added. Round 2 will come soon with Niche 2 piece Misano candy red 21 inch wheels, a Vorsteiner front and rear bumper, and a fresh matte or gloss white wrap from EAWraps.  But first, lemme make some boost!

So our formula for these cars has been the same.  VR Tuned Tuning Box Kit, Agency Power Titanium Exhaust, Agency Power Y-Pipe, Agency Power Intakes.  The Tuning Box Kit is a plug and play device that works with the cars boost, manifold, and cam sensors to change the mapping of the vehicle giving it huge gains in torque and horsepower.  Our Agency Power titanium exhaust original design has a beautiful tone while keeping the stock catalytic converters for emissions purposes.  A new feature on this car is the brand new Agency Power quad titanium tips.  The burnt blue tips are a perfect replacement to those rectangle jobbies and feature a nicely etched AP logo.  Our Y-Pipe helps improve the air flow from the intercoolers to the throttle body with larger diameter piping and a better merge collector.  Finally is the AP intakes giving more forced air with the high flow cylindrical cone filters that fit right under the air ducts for the rear decklid.

We have done 2 articles now comparing the modifications of the 991 Turbo and Turbo S with parts from Cobb Tuning, GIAC, Akrapovic, Sharkwerks, and Agency Power.  Our most indepth article showed the difference in how the Cobb Tuning compared to the GIAC flash, but then compared to our VR Tuned Tuning Box Kit here.  We then revalidated our findings with this other Porsche 991 Turbo S that we showcased about a week ago here.  This showed the consistency of the basic bolt-ons and tuning which included the Cobb AccessPort, Akrapovic exhaust, and BMC air filter.  So now how does this other Turbo S stack up with the VR Tuned Tuning Box.  Tests are always completed on our Mustang AWD Dyno using 91 octane here in Arizona.  Typical drivetrain loss is 20-25% and tests are usually run in 3rd gear.

Our completely stock 991 Turbo S baselined with 444 awhp and 431 ft/lbs of torque.  With all the parts installed and ran again under the same conditions, the peak numbers were 468 awhp and 545 ft/lbs.  No the car did not only make 24 horsepower.  There might be some differences in tests with fans on the intercoolers or radiators, but its a small negligable difference.  It had massive gains with 75 awhp at 3700 rpm that climbed to about 90 awhp at 4280 rpm and then back to 75 awhp at around 4700 rpm.  The car continued with 50 awhp gain around 5100 rpm and slowly tapered off from 40 to 30 to 20 horsepower.  What is truly impressive is the torque.  With the new Y-Pipe and intakes, the throttle is much quicker and the turbos spool faster.  Right away at 3000 rpm we are making 50 ft/lbs more torque and it shoots up massively to a gain of about 120 ft/lbs at around 4000 rpm.  Much like the horsepower, it starts to fade off up top where it crosses paths at 5300 rpm while still gaining about 50 ft/lbs.  I would say the tapering is interesting, but is it?  Lets look at the other cars (graph) below.

Whether the Turbo or the Turbo S, the end gains are going to be the same as the turbochargers are the same but the Turbo S has a slightly more aggressive map stock.  So our previous 4 cars tested including 2 Cobb Accessports, 1 GIAC tune, and 1 VR Tuned Tuning Box were similar.
